I am a UK size 16. I would like to lose some weight for health reasons, so even dropping a single dress size would be great for me. For some reason, I gained a lot of weight after starting antidepressants and everytime I have increase my dose, I put on more weight. On 40mg, I am now a little under 80kg and haven't gained any more than that. But I can't really blame anti depressants because my lifestyle is generally rubbish. I just want off the meds, but I can't afford to go off them just yet. I wanna start weaning off of them soon.

I don't know how much it will affect my appetite, but we'll see.

Something around UK10, US6, JPN9 to 11, ITa42, FRa40, EU(southern e.g. Zara) 38, EU(northern e.g. H&M)36 … Chinese L to XL!
All except northern EU sizes, tall size needed/ strongly preferred if available.

Does it matter though?

I just try a few sizes on in a shop and choose which ones I think looks nicest; above is what I get most often so I keep it as guideline when buying something online.

And being tall I LOVE margin bins too! Have had my few best finds from them :)
Going to a tailor sounds freaky, have to communicate…. New Look even has tall clothes nowadays.

I'm US size 6, Euro 36 and Chinese size large. I say that because my Chinese relatives keep giving me Chinese clothes and they are all too tight around the hips, only L and XL allow my hips to get in but then they're baggy everywhere else. I just gave all my too small pants to my brother's MIL (old Chinese lady) and she's thrilled. I don't weigh any more than my female relatives but I guess we aren't the same shape.

I am proportioned like a mutant troll. In jeans I usually wear a 10 or 12 short or average (US sizes) but I am incredibly top heavy- shirts I usually have to wear at least a 14 or 16 (large or XL) and my main problem with shirts is them gapping in the front because I have a 38D chest and broad shoulders. I also hate-hate-hate short shirts and I don't wear sleeveless anything- especially sleeveless dresses. Whoever thought that dresses and shirts look better without at least a cap sleeve didn't have the linebacker torso I have. I think fashion designers engineer women's clothes to look good on 12 year old boys, but most items look like crap on a woman with broad shoulders AND an ample bosom. And long sleeve shirts are always way too long because I have short arms- with big meaty man hands, go figure. I'm not terribly tall (5'4') but my proportions are completely whacked. I weigh about 145# which is about right for a woman with my bizarre sized frame.

Finding clothing I like that fits right is an adventure. Usually it's jeans with T-shirts with catty sayings and/or automotive related t-shirts when I have my choice. I don't like anything even remotely tight or scratchy.

Shoes are the easiest thing for me to get- I wear a women's 7 which is on the small side, but it's probably too easy for me to get shoes. I have way too many pairs of shoes. Oh, well. :skull:

I tend to be a US 6, 8 and 10, which is a UK 8, 10 or 12 -- the size varies depending on the item/manufacturer as some clothes come up in inaccurate sizing.

Many of my US clothes come in not sizes but the small medium and large designation, and I see that most of mine are the small and medium label.

On the other hand, my favoirite Old Navy jeans seem to be made extremely large, because I'm a 2 in those! But their sizes are known to be completely screwy; it's called "vanity sizing" to make the customer feel flattered that maybe they are smaller than they thought (we're not that stupid!) and manufacturers do it sneakily -- I'm not actually a 2 in anything except those particular jeans.

Sometimes I can tolerate a slim-fitting garment, but other times I don't like the clinging sensation and I buy something two sizes too big for me so that it's looser on me. I'm finding that as I get older I prefer clothes that are very loose and don't touch me a lot.

I wear about a 7-7 1/2 US in shoes, but I'm 5'8"! I have small feet in comparison to my height. I always had small feet.

I wear between 00 and 2 for bottoms depending on the style and how I want it to fit. Or I wear xs for skirts and dresses. For tops, I wear an xs usually or go up to a s if I want a looser fit like I usually do with something like a cardigan. I really don't look *that* thin, though. I'm just petite.

Oh lovely ladies, lovely ladies I think I can beat you on that!

With height 173.5 cm (about … 5'7''??) I have UK size 3.5 or 4, which is apprx US size 5.5 or 6!
It's Asian 23 or 23.5 which refers to the length of sole in cm, and EU 36 or 37.
All depending on width, style and maker as well.

I have duck feet - I mean, they are literally shaped like duck feet! Totally abnormal. Extra wide. With ti-iii-ny heels. Just look at a picture of any duck to see the shape :D

So I actually wear only sandals with ankle straps (so the toes can go out and move and I don't get blisters on heels while the sole is of right length, 23cm) or boots (always at bigger end size vise, size 4 or sometimes even 5 8O , which means the sole is too long and they just hang from my ankle but the feet can move inside!)

No shoes. Impossible! Unless order made… (= too expensive). Barefoot (or in socks with grip soles) at home. :D

I need a size 4 petite that is rather hard to find work clothes wise, I also am on the rather short side so that does not help.

That's a social thing. People equate thin with worthwhile.

Some of this is social bias. Most people tend to over estimate the weight of people we don't like and underestimate the weight of people who we do like. Because in this society, we see thin as being a valuable trait. (To a point. If you are very thin or very fat, people will see that no matter what.)

There's also the social factor of the white lie. When asked to guess, people will underestimate a woman's age and weight, so as to not embarrass the person. They would MUCH rather have you be pleased with an underestimation than upset you because you think they are calling you "fat" "old" or "ugly." They don't want to cause a confrontation or bad feelings. Most people don't consider that you might be emotionally neutral about the topic and might be looking for unbiased feedback.

BTW, I'm a size 16 US right now.
