There was a men's forum and it had the same topics as the Adult forum. In fact the Adult forum is controlled by the men and the men have also taken over the Women's forum even to the point of arguing with women over menstruation.

Being an intelligent woman is a handicap in this world and especially on this forum. A lot of AS guys have real issues with conversation skills and if you don't agree with them they would just as soon beat you over the head with a pipe. I've even seen this in person where the AS guys will pound on the table & scream to get their point. Kinda like cavemen. So I seriously don't feel like as a woman there is any power in it. Women are still equal to slaves in this world.

If you feel left out as a guy, go to the Adult forum to talk with other guys because its the same as the Men's forum was.

It's a pecking order thing. Men like to pick and tease and domineer between themselves, to establish pecking order. If a lifetime of being an honorary male has taught me anything, it's this... if you're going to hang out with guys, when you're pushed, you have to push back. Don't tolerate bullsh*t "just to be nice" or so you "don't make waves", or so you don't make someone "feel bad". When someone pushes you, push back.

Men are like wolves... and the wolf that gets nipped but never nips back is the bottom of the pecking order... the omega wolf. When you get nipped, nip back! Otherwise, you will indeed end up on the bottom of the pecking order and get treated, as you say, like a slave.

The social structures of most women are different... seem to run on a system of categories, rather than a heirarchy. There's:

1) Cool people,
2) Ok people, and
3) Stupid b*tches.

This system is both more forgiving and more unforgiving than the male system. In the male system, if you're the omega wolf it really sucks to be you, but you always have the hope of moving up in the pecking order in the future. If you are stuck in the "stupid b*tch" category of the female system, you're treated marginally better (to you face at least) than the "omega wolf" of the male system, but you have absolutely no hope of advancement.

According to what I've read dogs don't have a Hierarchy.

Nah. The Adult section is pretty interesting.

I haven't peeped into the Adult forum in awhile because it was so boring. But last time I looked it was post after post whining because they can't get laid or talking about penis length. Same thing as they always talked about in the Men's Forum.

The men's forum was meant for the purpose of discussing issues like personal identity, gender equality, dealing with male problems not generally taken as seriously as they should be (sexual harassment and sexual assault cases in which a male is the victim, among other things), what it means to be male vs. society's stereotype of what it means to be male, things of that general nature...
However, those who felt the need to give into society's pressure to be a stereotypical male took over and ruined the forum.
Of course, my lack of moderating ability also had more than a little bit to do with it...
So that's basically a summary in brief (from my perspective)

Among males, there is nothing sadder than not being able to get laid. That is just the unfortunate circumstance that a lot of male Aspies fall into. Also, having a winky that is too small may cause depression.

Any guy will tell you there are MUCH sadder things than not being able to get a f*ck, because as most thinking people know the desire to "get some" is a mere trivial matter based on the instinctual urges that are just part of being an animal. (Besides, I've heard girls complain about not being able to get laid, but when they complain it's like everyone sheds a lake of tears for them.... which imo is stupid...)

<sigh>

Anyone who is of one gender and claims any real understanding of the other gender is either lying or deluded. That especially includes tomboys.

Anyone who is of one gender and claims any real undertanding of everyone else of their gender based on that gender is either lying or deluded.

If there's one thing that life has taught me (and life has taught me many things), it is that humans are inherently nondeterministic. Gender based generalizations will have so many special cases that they are reduced to nothing more than tools of arrogant naivete. Discard them; move beyond them; adapt.

So your complaining because men are seen as worthwhile people in their own right, but woman are objectified as sex objects who are only worthwhile if they are beautiful?

I took a psych class on this once. If you take the time to examine the media you'll see that men are most often portrayed is smart and powerful, even when they are gross pigs, and any average or belowaverage looking guy can get on tv but about 95% of the woman portrayed are beautiful and the ones who aren't are often pictured in the most negative light possible.

This is especially true of Spanish-language TV in the USA. Look at, for example, Sabado Gigante.

http://www.univision.com/content/channe ... schid=6761

Don Francisco has been hosting the show forever. And, they ALWAYS have some VERY nice looking young ladies in bikinis, bouncing around.

By the way, I don't mean to say that Don Francisco is a "gross pig." He is old and fat, and women may find him attractive--I don't know. But the women on the show--ooh laa laa--they are neither old nor fat.

If the men were actually participating in the discussion no one would have a problem with them here. But with few exception when they do post here it is to assault the women here, or women in general, or to complain about this forum.

A chauvinist pig? Not at all, what you say is completely true, and I can't see how one would interperet it as sexist.

That honestly depends which specific examples you're looking at. Also, below average-looking men are generally portrayed in a far more negative light (the whole stereotype constantly shown on TV that fat men are womanizing drunks) than below average-looking women, besides which above average looking women are often portrayed negatively as sluts.

Your thinking too narrowly. You need to think broader. In terms of all shows and movies that you see, not jsut specific examples. There are always exceptions to every rule, but if you truly examine objectively you can find general rules that apply in the vast majority of cases, such as that only beautiful woman are portrayed and are rarely shown as being as intelligent as the men, even fat slobbering men.

We once spent an entire hour listing beatiful and not-so-beutiful men/woman than the class of about 70 students had seen in shows and movies. In the end the less-than-attractive women had 8 names. The less than attractive man column, took up two panels of the chalkboard and we didn't even write down all the names. The beautifl men/women columns had a lot of names but more woman than men.

Actually there are tons of studies that prove North America is just such a land. One of the most telling was done a few years ago by a research team in New York, they sent out identical resumes to companies that were advertising open positions. Resumes with male names were something like 3 times more likely than the identical resumes with female names to receive a call to come in for an interview. The gap was geven wider between traditional anglo and traditional minority names

Have you ever considered that studies were done by these companies that proved men were more cost efficient? Women get pregnant, many companies don't want that... it's not about "male domination" it's about capitalism and the bottom line.
