And very quickly. I went from being made fun for being "behind" even though that was simply a reference to me not wearing make up or older style clothing I think, to being called a bra stuffer because I developed so much earlier physically. I had heavier periods too- having to get a change of clothing every month.

Um, yeah. I got breasts when I was 9. My friend bot hers like two years later. And I got my period when I was 11, and my friend got her two or 3 years later. People always think I am older then her, but she is a year older then me.

I got my period quite early, when I was nine years old. I started looking mature for my age until I reached 13.
Since then I have not grown a single bit. I'm 18 now and my face and body shape is exactly the same.

People keep giving me this "oh you'll love it when you're 50! You'll look 5 years younger" crap.
It doesn't work that way, I will just look like a wrinkly child.

I've cried over this because I know I'll never have the body of a woman, and I'll always be looked down upon.

Don't know

I began puberty age 11, got my first period 3mths before my 12th birthday.

I played with dolls till I was 12 and was younger in my ways in terms of being mentally behind.
however I never did anything silly like NT girls do. Like get drunk, fool around with drugs ect.

I would say I started puberty fairly early and mentally matured when I was 16 onwards.

now i'm in my mid 20's however i'm now more mature then most people my age group.
Funny how things turn around.

I think I matured physically faster than most girls. I started wearing a bra when I was 10, and it wasn't even a training bra. I hated it, how it would show through my clothes and other girls were horrible and nasty to me, yelling out "BIG T**S, BIG T**S!! !" and then laughing when I went home crying. Guys never seem to have this problem when their bodies change, it's like "Oh you're becoming a man, this is something to celebrate". Not fair.
I also got my period when I was around 12 or 13, but that's the average age, isn't it? I read some girls get it as early as 9. But it's still so taboo in this culture to even mention it. back then I would have sincerely rather died than talk about it to someone who wasn't a woman and therefor would know and understand.

I read that I didn't half to act older just because I was going through the physical transitions to womanhood, which greatly relieved me. But it like, you turn 13 and then suddenly it's no you're too old for toys they're worthless garbage anyway. I tried telling my mother that even adults collect and play with toys, that it's their hobby but she didn't approve of it. She does now, though. I would get mixed messages at school where I was supposed to have had the IQ of an 18-year-old at age 12 but couldn't get along with kids my own age and was flunking out and when my mother told the teachers how smart I really was she said they acted like they didn't believe her.

I got my period when I was 11. I'm not sure how that rates to average.

My breasts did blossom earlier than most--and I have a large cup size. That didn't make me a target of bullying. I did get "asked out" many times before I even started to like boys at all. I was annoyed that everyone was being like that.

Actually, recently my son asked me if I was ever bullied in school. And I answered, "I don't know". Truthfully, I don't think I would've noticed unless it was physical bullying (which didn't happen).

Well, I had my first period when I was in seventh grade, and that was embarrassing. I don't think any of the other girls in my grade had had their's yet, and if they did they were a lot better at hiding it. I also kinda matured at the same rate as the other girls, but I didn't lose my last baby tooth 'til about sixth grade, when only a few years earlier I sometimes had two loose teeth at once. I still don't have my wisdom teeth, but I think I read somewhere that not everyone has them in the first place, so that might be the case for me. I stopped growing around the time I turned 16, and now I have people thinking that I'm younger than I really am, especially when I'm standing with both of my sisters who actually look a bit older than me even though I'm the eldest.

Oh, and I was constantly one of the shortest kids in my class through all of middle school, and then the one guy who was shorter than me had a growth spurt between eighth and ninth grade.

I did; I developed breasts at 9 1/2, and started menstruating exactly one year later.

If so, did that exacerbate the bullying?

Yeah, it's directly and indirectly the only thing I suffered from other kids.

I felt like a prisoner in my new body.

Yeah, and quite frankly I still do, almost 30 years later.

Yes. I started developing breasts and body hair at the age of 8. I started my period at the age of 9---about 3 months before my 10th birthday. I'm only 5'2", but as a child I was always one of the biggest and tallest children in class.

I was a very childish girl that wasn't the least bit interested in grown up stuff. The early puberty definitely made bullying worse. I remember starving myself hoping I would get so skinny that my breasts, curves, and period would go away and I would become a child again. I remember wearing bras that were also too snug and slouching in an attempt to look smaller and shorter.

I didn't feel like a child in a woman's body. I simply felt like a child and wished other people could still see me as a one.

Not me. I've grown physically in a typical manner. It didn't subjected me into more (or lesser) bullying because of my body. As nothing changed and it goes as it is.

But regardless, having a more mature body is more of an inconvenience. Especially the monthly... I don't care if I have the the desirable superficial features of a female body, I had enough with more 'needs' and 'attention'. I would rather be physically 8; careless, carefree, and ignored.

I went through puberty early, and was also a head taller than everyone else (girls and boys) in late-elementary and early-middle school. I don't think it had anything to do with autism, though, as I also have PCOS.

I don't think so? I matured at the same rate as they. Sure I have a "baby face", but I think I am just about the same.

Same for me. For a long time I wanted my more androgynous prepubescent body back. So I resorted to losing weight.

I'm not sure where I got this desire from. It wasn't from my peers because they were the opposite - they couldn't wait to develop sexually, wear bras, sexy clothes, and start dating. I was content with staying a child.
