I've seen plenty of people wear nice pants outfits to weddings and such. You should check around more. They usually have something in the better stores or the bridal shops. There are always nice jackets with mandarin collars over silk trousers. Those can be very dressy and acceptable at weddings and such. I can't think of anything where you absolutely couldn't get away with some kind of dressy pants outfit. My mother had terrible vericose veins so she always did this and no one minded.
8O I never thought to wear my dress pants to weddings and formal things

Oh, lots of people do...My mum has a really nice formal pants suit that she has worn to family weddings....it's red and black...she also has a blue and black one, and a solid dark grey pants suit she wears to funerals. My mother doesn't *do* skirts.

I hated wearing any type of dress or skirt until I started middle school. After that, I loved it! In fact, I couldn't live without my minis or sundresses now! (I'm wearing one right now!) :)

I very rarely wear skirts or dresses as I tend to prefer trousers myself.

I always hated them and I always will. I could never go to any formal events or church because my parents insisted that it was disresful not to "dress up" or that it's evil for girls to dress up like men in the church. My parents used to force me to wear these downright ugly frilly things, but now that I am all grown no one can force anything upon me. I'll take my stonewashed jeans and shorts anytime. Even if I get married (which I won't) I'll get married in blue jeans or shorts.

I will never ever ever ever *ever* wear shorts. (Unless you count the bottom half of my swimwear, but I don't wear it with anything else-I have boardshorts and a tankini top.)

I agree. I'm very self-concious in shorts. I'll wear jeans most days, and if it's really hot, I wear three-quarters pants. A knee-length skirt is the highest I ever get.

I hate seeing my knees when I wear shorts. I'm also quite pale so it looks funny.

I hate dresses, skirts, makeover, and other girly clothes. I only wear them in extreme cases, or because my mom make me do it :x

I vividly remember having to go to a wedding when I was about 13 and my mother made me wear a dress, but I insisted on wearing pants underneath. I'm sure I looked stupid.

Now I live in the tropics and find sarongs to be very comfy. All cotton, no snaps or zippers or buttons, all loose and flowy with no binding anywhere. Much more comfy than pants.

Oh, I wore lots of sarongs when I was in Mexico :) I wore a bathingsuit bottom underneath...only mine weren't so open on one side. They are really comfy, especially in hot weather...I'd usually have my tankini top under whatever I was wearing on top and I could go to the pool or beach and swim at any time without going to change
