Being called sweetie, sweetheart, baby, etc. by strangers

I guess I haven't thought much about it, but it tends to happen more from older women.

It bothers me when men do it, because it's a very different dynamic.

a cashier in a supermarket today had the nerve to call me "sweetie". that's kind of annoying. @ least, given that she could've said nothing.

she looked like a 45 year old, female, about the same height/weight as me. i'm 41, ftm.

usually (i feel like), the speaker means "sweetie" in an affectionate, comforting way, but i take "sweetie" as condescending when coming from women. and creepy when coming from men.

but everyone has "freedom of speech", but not everyone having sex with the boss.
