Same! I love tampons. They are way better than pads. They did take some time getting used to though. Oh, and about the toxic shock thing, it only happens if you leave them in more than 8+ hours or if they get full before then and you don't take it out.
I'm hypersensitive all over my body as well but tampons are something you can get used to and now I don't notice a bit! Are you inserting it correctly? The majority of the time, pain means that you didn't *ahem* get it in all the way. Practice makes perfect. Everything takes time to adjust.. Best of luck (:
