Pregnancy is a natural thing and although I am a guy and may not completly understand no matter how hard I try at least I try, the thing is you have little to worry about when you get to the point of childbirth everything will be alright and the doctors will provide painkillers etc so youl be fine you may feel sore and exhausted afterwards but you will be a mother!

I´m not pregnant YET, and I still doubt if I´ll ever be a mother. Besides, you are a guy. How can YOU know how will I feel after a childbirth? I know you are just trying to comfort me, and I appreciate it, I swear I really do. But you cannot experience childbirth, so naturally, you can only guess. Besides, it is different for every woman. Some women have extremely fast childbirths, and some can suffer even for two days. I would rather ask doctors to kill me than suffer this long. Lord knows if I´d ever survive it.

One famous healer/oracle from my country, whose predictions have always come true, said to me after looking into my past lives (regression & CHI evaluation) that I died nine times in my previous lives, and always when giving birth. She even predicted that I would have a very risky childbirth, but the doctors would possibly save me thanks to the level of nowadays medicine.

I am not afraid of pregnancy and the whole labour process just because of this, ve had it ever since I was a very little girl (age four and less), but this prediction definitely DID add to my fears.
I know that but at least I try to understand I never will understand.

People, PLEASE! Especially those who already have experience with childbirth. Can´t you remember what this topic was originally about? It was about a person (me) who is PHOBICALLY AFRAID OF PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH. You are not exactly HELPING ME when you keep on talking how bad your childbirth experience was and how it broke your hip bones or other bones, and stories like that! Do you think that I feel more sure about having a baby right now?

First of all, people breaking hip bones and other such horrible things is uncommon. I, like most women, had a normal, vaginal birth with no complications, both times. The contractions hurt, but once I got my epidural, it was painless. My pregnancies were normal too. It can be uncomfortable, sure, but if it was that bad I would never have done it a second time. Sure, things CAN go wrong, but that's the great thing about modern medicine; mother and child have a much better survival rate. One of the rules I live by is to never worry about what MIGHT happen; never worry unless you have something to worry about.

Also, if you are SURE you want kids, then it's important to get therapy to work out your anxieties about pregnancy. If you're not sure you want kids, why worry about this?

I do worry about things that MIGHT happen. I think it is a sign of Asperger´s. I thought it must be the same for every Aspie, but it probably isn´t. However, I am glad that you don´t have it like that.

I DO want kids, or I think so. I am not completely sure, but 60 percent sure, and that´s is a sign that I possibly WOULD want to start family in the future. I must think about the conception of therapy, because no therapy has ever helped me so far. I always had to help myself. Hopefully some doctor will know how to work with my fears. But thank you.

As a guy I can never understand about bearing a child nor maternal instincts nor the pain a woman goes through, however sometimes men experience sympathy pains which is a very strange thing indeed.I am just the drone bee while the woman is the queen bee. http://www.parenting.com/article/dads-p ... y-symptoms

I am the same way. I am afraid of pregnancy because I will not feel sexually desirable because of the changes. I will probably get corrective surgery done on my breasts, stomach and vagina afterward to fix it although I am still afraid my husband will see my breasts and vagina as tools, not for lovemaking, even though my boyfriend (who I think is the One) swears he won't but he can't know until it happens.

It's not that I'm scared of it. I just don't want kids. I guess what would scare me if pregnancy is anything like the Alien movies, though..

Well, I am scared of it, but that's because I'm completely done having kids.

I certainly didn't enjoy pregnancy. It was like being sick for nine months, and childbirth is horrifying: any sane person should be terrified of it (mind you, I had no pain meds at all). Still, it all can be a very interesting experience. It's a heroic raid boss: excruciating, but makes you feel like a badass. That's appropriate, because to deal with being a mom in this world, you need to be a bit of a badass, imho.

My NT friend got pregnant at 31 after being told at 19 that she'd never have kids. I have never feared pregnancy or birth, but she was weirded out by the whole process. I was at the first ultrasound, and when we saw the heartbeat, I was in awe of the miracle (up until the ultrasound, we were all certain it was an ectopic pregnancy), while she described it as "creepy". She often referred the the baby as a parasite, demon spawn, and later on she named it "baby GTFO" (get the f*** out). Most of it was in humor, but she didn't love her pregnancy. She was freaked out by labor too, fearing the pain of the birth, only to get to that point and have the baby come with just a few pushes.

Now she has a beautiful 6 month old baby, the daughter she has always wanted. She loves being a mom.
