I don't mind going to the mall, but I won't stay long. There are only a few stores I like, and the rest are rather pointless.
Oh, but I have to be with someone if I go to the mall. I can freak out otherwise.

I hate shopping anywhere. It makes me nervous. I HATE going up to pay for my stuff.. absolutely HATE it. and I cannot stand trying on clothes in a dressing room!! People also tell me I "don't know how to act right" when I'm shopping.

I only like to go to the mall if I can go in, get what I came there for, and then leave. I hate having to be there any longer than necessary.

If I go shopping, it has to be for a point...although there have been days where I have just floated to one shop to the next when something catches my eye. Only like doing that by myself though.

Most of all I hate those food courts in big shopping centres....yuck, full of disease and people clamouring around the food like pigs to a trough!

I like malls because I like the visual stimulation of seeing lots of bright colors and objects all lined up in rows. But I usually only like it if I go during a time when it isn't crowded, such as a weekday morning.

I really hate it in clothing stores when the store people get pushy about helping. You can't walk past them without them suddenly calling out "Hi! Is there anything you're looking for? Do you need any help?" Then they get mad at you if you don't say anything. They usually startle me and make me forget what I was going to look for. I realize they're just doing their job, but I wish they'd wait until I ASK for help.

I only liked going to the mall to go to the bookstores, music stores and to see a movie. I hated clothes shopping.

Another reason I don't like going to the mall is because my sister is a shop-a-holic and she has to try everything in the store on at least twice, which gets really old really fast, and she pesters me about everything...

This is an example of a conversation we'd have while at the mall.

My sis: OMG this skirt is so cute! Lets go inside!

Me: Why do you like this store?! Everything in here is either too small, too tight, or too see-through to wear anywhere without getting pounced on by someone. Find another store, maybe American Eagle or something. At least their stuff is decent...

My sis: I think that shirt would look really good on you...you should try it on. We are going in so I can try that skirt on. Argh! It's soo cute!

Me: Would you stop acting like a ditz please? You have a GPA of 3.8; that's not low enough for you to say stuff like that. YOu aren't a cheerleader (Please don't be offended...when I say this, its because the cheer squad at our school is FREAKISHLY ditzy and really really street-stupid)

My sis: Shut up...it is cute! Get in here! (At this point, she'd grab my arm, I'd have a small freakout session, and we'd be inside while I was spazzing)

-- My sis: Everything in here is really expensive. Oh well, it's cute.

Me: -Glowering- If you don't stop that, I'm going to leave and go to Borders and you'll have to shop all alone.
(She hates shopping by herself, thats why I get dragged along :^] )

My sis: Ugh, you jerk. This is a good store!

Me: Yeah, if you are a hooker...

My sis: What?

Me: Nothing. I'm leaving.

My sis: -follows me out- You'll be fine once you go to Starbucks...

(I must point out, this is true. If I get a Grande Green Tea Frappuchino, and go somewhere, I'm completely fine....I think the caffeine has some kind of strange effect, or I'm just so busy drinking it and enjoying it that we can get some shopping done..lol)

The MAIN reason I don't like going to the mall is the fact that once I find something I'm looking for, I"M DONE and my sister isn't...she's the most indecisive person ever. She'll take like 5 outfits into the dessing room, try each one on at LEAST 3 times once she's narrowed it down to 5 outfits, say "Which one do you like more?" until I just walk out of the store and head for the nearest bookstore, which is at the other end of the mall.

Going to the mall ruins my day unless I bring a book along lol.

Yup.

Though with kids, you tend to go when it's less busy, which makes life bearable.

My mall used to be fun and they had cool sciency stores but they closed them all and put clothing stores in their places. My mall has nothing but clothing stores. It is fun to go there and observe NT's and their stupidness though.

I like the mall sometimes... like there's a gift shop called Spencer's in my mall that has a lot of awesome stuff but I like clothes shopping too, it's just sometimes I get afraid of all the people in the mall and I get tired of shopping easily. I can't shop 3 hours straight like most girls can.

All I hate is trying on numerous clothes that I hate. So I'm extremely nice* and make my friends try on awful clothes. 8O

I can't belive how many people have said they only got to 'malls' (or shpping centres as we call them in the UK) for the bookshops or music shops, i can't stand those types of shops - there's so much writing everywhere and i try to read it all and get confused and dizzy, i'm the same in supermarkets. I'd much rather wander around clothes shops where everything is well laid out and spaced out so i can take in everthing i'm looking at pretty quickly. I work in clothes shops for 4 hrs a week (yes i do work in more than 1 shop, my job is complicated) and its really not that bad when you have something specific to focus on that can be done systematically, and there are no horrible customers. I think i have more of a problem not knowing were to start or what to focus on in shops than dealing with the lights and noise - if i'm focusing i can block them out. Also i tend to choose which shop i go in by whether they're playing a song i like.

To me, malls are like plastic. Phoney, manmade artificial replicas of something that was once real.
I shop on-line whenever it is feasible.
They are good for walking in before the shops open.

I don't go often--- around christmas i HAVE to to get presents, and I hate it then since people smash into you and are so rude. I'll go if I know I want to buy something, but not just to mill around in ( when i was a teenager i did, but only because i was bored)
