Male here. Have been mistaken as gay on occasion by both guys and girls. I'm thinking this is due to missing or not properly engaging with flirting cues, and go back to talking 'boys toys' - computers, cars, politics, science, wars etc with male colleagues; therefore appearing interested in men rather than women.
This isn't due to sexuality, it's due to understanding the language people speak, and being in a comfort zone.
Is this the experience when mistaking a male aspie as gay?

I peg them more as childish rather than gay when I meet an Aspie male. Then again, some guys never really grow up.
Also, what makes them appear childish? From personal feedback I've always looked younger and behaved older. Guess everyone is different though.
