In a world full of images of how we "should" look it can get difficult to tell how we DO look. Our hope is to build a site where women can see what real women look like. What we really look like. Most women have spent so many years looking at themselves in mirrors that we can no longer see what's really there. The My Body Gallery project's goal is to help women objectively see what we look like and come to some acceptance that we are all beautiful.

This is a gallery of photos of real women [there is a separate section for men to go to to look at images of 'real men'] who have submitted images of themselves along with their age, weight, height and shirt and pant size. Many of the pictures the people have obscured their face- it is not a "competition" site. But to clarify it's not JUST a typical gallery- it is is a way to search through various stats and get a sense of what "real women" look like and gain some perspective. The reality is that there are many different ways to present as Xlbs/kg and a certain height.

There are also personal stories that share positive thoughts and ideas about body images and expectations, etc.
I actually found it really interesting so thought I would just post it to see if other people found it helpful or interesting.

I love, love, love that concept! When I've told people my weight they say that the never would guessed. Sometimes I wonder what they think somebody who is 230 pounds looks like. Technically, as much as I hate this word, I'm classified as obese when it comes to the BMI chart. I just don't look like I weigh 230 pounds according to some people.

A size 3x in top and a size 20 in pants looks different on different people. At most stores, I take a 3x in top and my jeans are a size 20 unless a size chart states otherwise. People have argued with me about what size I wear.

That's a good website that proves that. Sometimes when I tell people my height and weight it makes me wonder what they think somebody who is 230 pounds looks like.
