I'm classified as "high risk" for gynecological cancers so I have to get a "Yearly under the hood check-up".
This years was this morning. Doc. found Dysplasia cells on the external exam. He wants to wait 4 weeks for the biopsy (with me taking a prescription cream in the meantime).

ANYONE EVER HEAR OF THIS KIND OF WAIT? (I have to admit, after researching this I'm a little bit scared!)

Yeah, all of Canada has ridiculously long wait times for everything. Some people have to wait 6+ months for CHEMO. I don't know where you're from, you might want to call and tell your concerns to the doctor, they might be able to help you feel less anxious about it.

Do y'all have socialized medicine in Canada? I didn't know that! 6 week wait for Cancer treatment? YIKES!

I'm in the U.S. & pay for my care...so I suppose I might be a little bit demanding (of good service). I understood when the Dr explained the wait...it's just that as I read more in my research, I realized I had MORE symptoms than we had talked about. I just might phone the nurse tomorrow & 'splain more to see if he wants to bump up my biopsy.

10 week wait for me to get into the VA, finaally having my first appointment tomorrow. Who knows how long to get into a specialist.
I've been experiencing dificulty walking and its getting progressively worse. Numbness weakness tingling,....like pins n needles, spazms, twitching and cramping. Its now to the point that even when sleeping I'm feeling it.

Waiting is really tough ! ! I think I might be showing signs of ALS. my dad had it and it sounds exactly the same.

and no I'm not a hypochondriac.

6 months, not 6 weeks. But that's the extreme wait. I don't know what socialized medicine means, but we have "free" healthcare (it's nowhere near free, I pay thousands of dollars a year for it, I just don't have to worry about having enough money to go to the hospital and get a cast or pay my rent if I break a leg) It's crappy to say the least, but at the same time it's good to know I will never not be able to afford to see a doctor.. Just the meds! LOL!

Anyway, in all seriousness, I hope the call with the nurse goes well and you get in sooner.

Ok, so my wait is OVER. Tomorrow at 11am I'm going to see the Dr. (figured out WHY he wanted to wait the 1 month...my PAP results should be in by now) that is a definitive Cancer test.......I'm sweatin' bullets & can't sleep (it is almost 1am as I type this).

Powerball got up to 148 MILLION dollars for this past Saturdays drawing. I bought 1 ticket for it & told dh that I wouldn't mind having Cancer so much if we would win the lotto....no one won the grand prize & now it's rolled over to 173 Million.

I'm just hoping & praying that I dodge Cancer just like we dodged the taxes on that lotto money!

Very glad that it isn't positive!
