Weird back issues
I threw out my back moving furniture. It probably didn't help that I hadn't eaten for days because of a stomach issue I was having(reaction to casein, which I accidentally ingested) but I can barely stand up.
It's f*****g ridiculous. I feel like this is something that is supposed to happen in a few decades, not now.
In any case, is this something I should go to the doctor about? I can make a same day appointment tomorrow but I can't go to my regular doctor during the weekend. I don't know, my sister suggested they'd only give me some painkillers(which I don't necessarily need) and can't do anything about back injuries.
I don't know. I think I'm overreacting because of how intense the pain is.

Maybe try some ibuprophen/Advil and a really warm bath. That should help with the pain and give you some comfort. The doctor will likely just give you pain meds anyway. It's probably a sprain or muscle pull. After a tummy issue I bet your muscles were already tense/sore. I'd try above and then curl up on the couch/bed with a book and see how you are tomorrow. But also try to get some food in if you can.
This happened to me a few years ago, in my 20s, and I too was surprised how much pain I was in. My pain lasted for months, turns out the muscle I'd pulled was my psoas, which is a slow one to heal. I saw a ton of specialists and here's what I remember.
Warm epsom salt baths. Use more epsom than you ordinarily would - like 6 cups per bath.
Keep moving. A back injury is one type of injury that you don't want to totally rest on because it will stiffen and not heal.
Acupuncture was the single most effective treatment I tried. If you are up for this, get in ASAP. You should feel better after the first treatment.
I found a castor oil pack to be really effective. Get castor oil, apply it to your skin where the pulled muscle is, then put saran wrap over it, and lay on a heating pad on that spot for 10-20 minutes. Then you can shower / wash it off.
Long-term, I had to do a lot of yoga to strengthen my core so my body would let go of that pulled muscle.
Hope this helps, even a little.
I've tried a heating pad and warm baths, plus taking a tylenol 3 and a muscle relaxer. After all that, I woke up this morning and it hurt less, enough that I can stand up without screaming.
I've heard nothing but positive reviews of acupuncture but I'm skeptical because there isn't a solid explanation behind how it works. But in this much pain, I'd probably give it a go. I wonder if I can find someone in this area that does it.
