I like giving and receiving hugs to my family, my friends, and best of all, my fiancé. When I hug my fiancé (sometimes long and tight hugs) I feel warm inside and enjoy cuddles from him.

The only time I don't enjoy hugs is if they are sudden or from strangers; otherwise, I get a little creeped out.

I only hug my parents, my partner and close friends - if I can help it. I feel a bit awkward hugging people who I'm not close to.

I don't like hugging acquaintances or work colleagues who aren't close friends.

Sometimes. But usually I don't really return hugs, or know when to initate them.

Judging by this thread, I'd say...

NTs like hugs more often than aspies do, but when aspies like hugs, they REALLY like hugs. Doesn't seem like it'd be gender specific.

Im one of those aspies who really likes them as long as I expect them of course! If you want a hug I will be willing to give you one It makes me feel good inside when I do give a hug to someone! I have a very soft side when it comes to hugs!

In general I'm not a hugger, but it can depend on the circumstances.

Yes, but only from family, a lover, or a really good friend.

What's with people assuming all women are the same?

Bad habit that a lot of people have. They see people in a category and assume that there's more to it than just physical differences.

Every woman is different and has an individual mind this thread is kinda old and I made it a while back out of curiosity and an attempt to be cute! I have come to conclusion that some do and some don't I like giving hugs when I can but I don't like receiving them when I don't expect them, maybe its an autism thing and women on the spectrum experience the same kinda sensation and such. But..I do have a soft side for women and sometimes wish to give them hugs when they feel sad or lonely I feel better inside afterwards and it usually cheers them up and they feel comforted!

I like hugs. But if they are too long I find things get awkward. I have no idea how to caculate the right timing though. I'm sad when I get rejected for hugs. I miss all the hugs I got from friends at school.

It's not that I don't like being hugged at all, I enjoy hugs from my mother and other close family members. It's just when a whole bunch of people are so happy to see me they all have to hug me and then I get uncomfortable and my space is invaded. Also it's a wonderful way to spread viruses, especially during the holidays. My living alone in a virtually stress-free environment is very likely the primary reason I very seldom even get a cold, so I worry sudden exposure to crowds and lots of physical contact will be too much for my immune system to handle. :)

Depends, is the girl an introvert or extrovert.

Sometimes I do mind and sometimes I don't. I know that my hubby has complained that I don't offer them enough. I just never think about it. But sometimes when I get one, and I think: Wow, that feels so good, can't remember when last I had a hug, should do it more often. And then I forget about it again for the next 6 months.
