I was at a relatives house, and my 2nd cousin decided to teach me about makeup. I agreed to let her apply mascara on my eyelashes, and although it does make my eyes look a little better, it feels like I was just swimming in a chlorine filled pool. How do I remove the waterproof mascara, when my mom doesn’t have any makeup remover?

Try gently cleaning the eye makeup off with a baby wipe, and don't get any in your eyes. It might take a few strokes to get it all.

If there are no baby wipes- rub some hair conditioner straight into your dry eyelashes until it melts all the mascara up, and wipe it off gently with damp cotton wool. (This works best if you wet it with warm water and squeeze most of the water out.)

I don't use make up (for the same reasons you stated) but even though it is water prooof I thought soap and water will take it off. Use a washcloth. If that doesn't work, see if there's something written on the bottle about removing it or do a google search. Best of luck.

Baby oil on a cotton ball will also work, and might not sting as much as hair conditioner.

vegetable oil/olive oil works great too, just let it set on the mascara for a bit, it will soften it and then a tissue will remove the gook. just remember not to rub the tissue on the eyes, but take a moment to stroke in the same direction the lashes grow, from base up to tip, gently.
when there is no more gook coming off, wash your face and just pat around the eyes, sounds like they have had enough trauma for one day.

I was going to suggest Vaseline or similar. The baby oil or olive oil suggestions seem good too, I wouldn't have thought of that.

Make a pad with the softest tissue you can find, and press it gently onto your lashes before wiping very gently from root to tip.

If you're anything like me, your eyes will be itchy and red for a day or so. :(

There's also mascaras that come off easily with warm water, have a look around for them in the pharmacy.

and of course non water"proof" mascara will be the cause of 'raccoon eyes' at the first rub and the mime like drip over the face if tears are ever present.

Is there really any event where you must wear makeup?

doesn't the oil clog up the pores?

Every time I cleaned my eyes with pure oil, I got clogged up pores and it is not fun.

If you have a face wash, just use that (making sure you keep your eyes closed) and GENTLY wipe your eyelids with a washcloth, to get rid of any left behind mascara.

I don't think so, unless you're a circus clown I suppose. :D

The rare times I use mascara, I use a dab of generic cheapie Oil of Olay on my lids to remove the makeup, being careful not to get any into my eyes.

Why don’t you try to search it on internet? Because internet is one of the best ways to get information on makeup tips.
