I have irregular periods due to hypothyroid i repeatedly end up doing sonography and urine test to check why my periods are not coming.

Also when they do come they are heavy and i bleed badly its painful too.

There is risk of getting pregnant and all this adds to my woes.

So i plan to get a hysterectomy done. Any advice

Have you asked your gynecologist about it? I remember asking mine about it once when I was 30, and he said he'd consider it if I got a second opinion. (I finally got it done at 41 and am so glad to not have that kind of pain anymore!)

Hope you can find some relief from your pain, one way or the other!

Ah, I'm sorry... Well in that case I would recommend drinking lots of green tea - I find it helps with the pain!

It's not to be undertaken lightly. Unanticipated side effects can include pelvic floor prolapse, incontinence, and loss of abdominal muscle tone, depending on the surgical approach.

Don't you mean 'Fibroid'? someone close had this done, due to an abnormal growth in the uterus.
Why you are getting heavy periods may be something like, an underactive thyroid, but unlikely, if you’ve been describing the pain in your periods and through regular trips to the toilet.

These days, less surgery is the key to reducing the size of the problem.
