Hi-

I can't shave and I am wondering if I am alone. It hurts and makes me feel like I have compromised.

I have done it and it feels totally fake and it hurts.

I really hate shaving anything!

I found a nifty solution though... my shaving problem is sensory, so I use a pair of mens hair clippers with either the lowest guard or no guard depending. Gets the hairs short enough that the bf doesn't call me wookie, but not so short I have weird skin sensations.

I hate shaving, which is why I shave once a week...

I like shaving. I use an electric razor, which is tidier, easier and less time-consuming than a safety razor.

have you tried a bladeless razor? i find that feels a lot nicer & there is no chance of slicing skin open!

I hate it, but I also don't like being hairy. So I wax. More painful, but it's a fleeting pain and lasts for weeks so you don't need to bother with doing it so often. I also really hate the feeling of stubble, and you don't get stubble with waxing. And you get less hairs growing back too, so it makes even easier still. :)

Realize this isn't option for everyone, but I had boyfriend shave my legs for me & gradually he taught me how to do it myself.
Before that, I had to use electric one (which was scary & creepy, too-but less so than blade on a razor) because of extreme fear of slicing/cutting myself by accident. Still dislike shaving, so I only do it maybe once or twice a month-and once a week (at most) during "shorts-weather".

I'm not too fond of shaving because it leaves some stubble. I have an epilator that I feel is more effective, though.

I don't shave my legs. I don't see the point. I wax them, maybe twice a year, for costumes, but that's just to keep in with everything else.

I don't particually like shaving under my arms either but my boy likes me too, so I do most of the time. I used to wax instead, but it was making a mess of the skin, so I've had to stop for a while.

I shaved my legs twice when I was a teenager, because I felt pressured into it. It felt wrong, both physically (lack of sensation) and psychologically, so I've never done it since. Mostly I wear trousers or longer skirts, so I don't gross people out on the sidewalk. But if the wind blows my skirt up, and my hairy legs upset people, then they shouldn't have looked! And it's nice feeling the wind on the hair on my legs.

There are men who are fine with hairy women, so I'm not worried about that. I just used to be worried about the Looks Police. Now I say :P :P :P :P

I think it helped going to Europe for a month when I was 15. At the same time the other Canadian girls on the student exchange were making me feel inadequate, the Europeans mostly didn't care.

I can shave, but don't shave my legs often to a few reasons...

1) It irritates my legs (makes them get a rash).
2) I am afraid of slicing my legs open.
3) I don't see the point as I wear trousers all the time...even in summer time (just in lighter fabric :P).

Although I do shave under my arms because I find the hair itchy on my skin, as weird as that sounds.

My mother insists that I shave my legs for her wedding in August (I am wearing a knee-length dress) but I don't want to get a rash.
I'm thinking of using hair-removal cream....any good?

I love waxing - it's so calming for me.
I've shaved once or twice, but it's not my favourite :?
Though I do shave my armpits, just cause it's so easy to do. Legs on the other hand, are a chore for the perfectionist.

its just a cream which hydrolyses the hair. you leave it on for about 5 mins then scrape or wash it off & the hair comes off with it.

Ohhh no no, I ended up in hospital with serious burns from a depilation cream!! I did a patch test like it said and nothing happened, so I put it on my entire legs and ended up in bandages for weeks, I've never felt anything more painful!! It was so so so awful, I still shudder when I think about it. Those things are so toxic anyway! The devil's work!!
