My dog just ate two holes in my penguin sheets. I am like crying seeing as penguin things are hard to come by and are my obsession. I guess after my mom washes them I can sew them but idk.

Any tips to stop crying and get myself together?

I said "No." It depends.
As long as you're nice to the dog...
Go to your room, close the door and have a good cry. It's medicine.
Even better medicine is whatever practical things you can do to restore it.

I just remembered --
I don't usually have a problem in this area, but when I was pregnant, I wanted to get it out and get it over with when no one was around. So I put on some really sappy music. For me, it was Elvis. Kind of like an emotional enema.

I calmly told the dog no. Tried tot ell the dog not to chew and didn't pet her for a couple mins. She just layed at my feet while I cried.

I would look into dog training lessons as well. They do not mean to chew stuff but that is their nature. I actually have my dog chew up mail I don't want to open so sometimes they can be good to have around, unless they chase the cats and then they are a big pain in the butt.

It's good that she's going to buy you another set. I get so mad when my dog drags dirt all over my bed. She thinks it's her bed too, much to my annoyance.

I am not one to judge, but what would you do if your step-father pulled a gun on your mom and your sister simultaneously? Would that be worth crying, or would you kill him? Would you sit there wondering whether to do it or not? Would you be scarred afterwards? Would you be less judgemental of everyday situations afterwards? Would you just be happy to be alive?

Sorry, this is irrelevant. I'm just having a relapse moment.

Me, too. Flash-back time.

I can't imagine my parents doing that. Mine would just threaten to "give you something to cry about." And they would do it, too. (I'm not like that with my kids.)

If a dog's not caught doing something in the act, discipline is pretty much meaningless as it has forgotten what it's already done. Believe me, I have three dogs which could all use more discipline...

Theonly reason I can think of to not get a dog.... Well, not the only reason, trying to train it is the other. If I could have the help of someone who has done that before with a dog, I would love to get one.

Can you make something fun out of whatever is left over? A pillow case? A cover for the chair? Something snuggly?

Because of your Dx your not overreacting. If you were someone else then yes. I've done many similar things like that. Example: I had 4 $5 bills when I was younger and someone went into my room took them and left a $20 bill. I got mad and ripped up the 20.
