Are there any places that 'freak' you out?

Busy, crowded malls, supermarkets, WAL-MART UGH! And parking lots at night, loud, echoing crowded public restrooms. Also, high school hallways between classes. (I dropped out in 10th grade, because I had a nervous breakdown) Also, those warehouse type stores, like Home Depot, crowded restaurants filled with shrieking kids and their clueless parents, and jam packed auditoriums.

l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l, for me it's probably shopping centres as, often I've overwhelmed at times with all of the sensory input as well, at times I tend to be in another world which, can be problem causing especially, if your not aware of other people around you at times still, I'm able to navigate such places with a moderate amount of sucess..

Anywhere outside my room/house where I might run into people who know me and approach me to say Hi...I'm always a bit late at responding...and they stare at me waiting for a reply

Not usually creeped out by locations. Not ever in fact.

However.....

Am in the Middle-East at the moment.

The basement of the building where I work (former military medical facility) is concrete and has a 14-inch thick steel door weighing several tons that could - at one time in the past - be rolled across, sealing the only entrance. Beyond it lays a long corridor 130 feet in length with steel doors lining either side. Two are locked with chains and the rooms within unused; their doors display rusted bullet holes where the original locks were. The remainder of the basement has small makeshift offices of sorts and a small "conference room." There is on the steel door and along the walls here and there script in red which I canot read.

Going the other way "out" there is a long 110 foot ramp sloping up to the surface, as if things were meant to be rolled up or down. Going down always felt like being buried, smothered; and the place always inexplicably just creeped me out.

Subsequently found it had been a torture chamber, and many dead were found there.

For some reason when I go shopping at first I enjoy it loads but as soon as I've had my fill I get tired and drained. For some reason when I am tired everything else goes amplified and it becomes a blurr of sound and when I'm talking to the person I'm with I can't hear them properly it's all blah blah and I can't hear myself and I have to shout over the racket. And then my head gets achy or fuzzy and I can't concentrate on anything and I'm just aimlessly following the other person, getting more drained and my senses are working over time. It happened today when I went to the city centre with my friend I was enjoying it at first but then that weird tired overload came, what made it worst was my legs were feeling achy and sdo that means my sense of touch was uncomfortable along with sound and sight when I was outside because of the sun.
It doen't happen too often but when it does it's when I'm worn out and it's a very weird experience, it doesn't freak me out as such it just drains me.

Crowds where I don't know anyone.

Line-ups (queues).

Jailcells.

Even though it never freaked me out, I didn't used to be comfortable in the science rooms in my school because of the chemicals. I used to have to wash my hands whenever I left a science lesson.

Hospitals, Churches, school, high places like towers...

certain environments cause me sensory discomfort, and they promote social disasters, but i do not freak out about them unless i am prevented from leaving them and continuing on my way home.

when i get back in my car to go home, everything i disliked about where i was, is gone from my mind.

but i think i would be very worried if i was in alaska in a small house boat up a river that was bounded by ice shelves.
i would want to leave there rapidly.

There's something about my mum's shop. It used to be an antique shop for years, but she was growing weary of the business so she decided to turn it into a dress agency instead. But there's something about the building itself. When I'm in there I feel nauseous, anxious and time passes slower than a bariatric physiotherapy session.
