Well, if we're thinking realistically about this, it's probably going to be 6 guys and 6 girls and they're probably going to submit their own photos and bios. We'll probably need an editorial committee. And of course we should try to address the concerns of people like Bland and Drummer Girl.

I read about an Aspie fem who's conventionally minded beau simply couldn't grok that she doesn't want flowers, chocolates or disingenuous sweet talk. So I'm actually interested to read the standard turn-ons and turn-offs data sheets.

He did not give it his approval. Your version was not 'wearing appropriate clothing'.. despite the pathetic dismlaimer that you can't be accused of being a perv because they aren't 'nudes'.. you wanted aspie girls in lingerie or swimsuits. How is that not sleezy? Oh thats right the teddy suit aint see-though..
The only reason we've been asked to post photos is for masturbation purposes because some guys here are so pathetic they can't even walk into a newsagents and buy a f*****g stick book.

Are we truly so humorless, self-important, provincial and prudishly politically correct? The last thing anyone wants in a cheesy girly calendar is good taste! Get over yourselves!

And any "desperate looser" hoping that Aspies are an easy lay, is only agreeing with our own contempt for impossibly convoluted and facile sexual politics. Nor are we in any position to criticize. So, rather than wussing out, should we not take every joy, with no apology, in flaunting our discomfort with conventional manners and mores?

By way of analogy, dignity and moderation are the last values seen expressed, say, in a Gay Pride parade. Likewise, what is the entire point of the proposed cheesecake calendar or pictorial here except vulgar in-your-face outreach as a massive personals advertisement? Don't we all yearn to be lusted after, just like everybody else does? Isn't that the whole point? Dare we own up that little?

Well, this is sort of a strange discussion for an aspie, for most of us proclaim that we can't understand body language to well. How, then, can we understand the curvature of a woman's body? It's not that we can't see it or even understand it, but I would imagine it to be something that just doesn't strike a chord within us. I imagine most aspies to desire relationships based on acceptance and loyalty, not on looks and beauty. Of course, people who are particularly grimy probably would not be a kind of person for most of us, but for typical aspies, I doubt beauty is in the eye of our beholder.

For me, I don't even understand what it is with modern culture that says that two people can't marry the same man. I just do not understand the reasoning behind any of this. Why can't one person be allowed to love two people? Makes no sense to me. I don't think adultery is a crime. But, then again, some aspies have obsessions, and we may get obsessed with one particular girl. I just hate to admit that stalkers are aspies, but you never know. Stalkers have deep obsessions.

Do you really want to put yourself in a dangerous situation? Posing for a calendar and flaunting your looks? You might attract the ire of some really fiendish fans out there, and some aspies may unwittingly fall for it.

Hey, its happened to me, and I'm pretty sure he has AS. he was TOTALLY creepy..... And he was just too interested too fast sort of thing. He took my picture, he asked first, but, being a people-pleaser that I am, I said yes even though the idea made me uncomfortable. But he said he was just trying out his new camera (yeah right), so I smiled for him. After he started stalking me, i began feeling like I was gonna crawl out of my skin at the thought of what he might be doing with that picture..... EEEEAAAAACK! 8O Add on to the fact that AS people seem to be in great desire to contact people to make friends, and they get obsessive, and that can be a pretty scary idea come to think of it....

However I think people are worrying too much. This isn't meant to be a sleezy, trashy calendar. I think it is just a way for women to pose happy with their shtuff, to show that AS women can be cool and normal, as a way to advertise AS in a new and better light, and to raise funds for helping people. It sounded to me like that was the idea. You know, to help members get to recognise each other. But yeah... Certainly it has opportunities in the dating scene too.

Do we play it respectably safe and sedate, or maximize shock value and fun?

Well, this has become a vibrant conversation!

As I was saying to Solidess earlier in the evening, we talk about how different we are from NTs, but I continue to be struck by the similarities!

Thank-you Aaron and Aeturnus. I’m not saying I agree or disagree with you, I’m just saying thank-you.

At work, there is sometimes conflict because the NTs I work with misinterpret my motivations and visa-a-versa. Like the vast majority of aspies, I’m a very honest and sincere person, sometimes to a fault. I used to be surprised when NTs doubted my good faith and intentions. Now I’m a little surprised that some aspies do. Guess I’m still a little naïve. But I continue to be struck by the similarities!

'WP admin endorses public requests for women to pose in their lingerie.'?

Well at least one is meant to be sleezy then, I imagine that most women who aspire to be a lingere models actually aspire to be in stick books. I'm not exagerating or being overly PC.. you are the one that made the suggestions- I'm just elaborating on them because I thought you would appreciate my input as an aspie woman as you want to liberate me from all those nasty stereotypes that a holding me back.

Or does that make you uncomfortable? :? I really wouldn't want to say anything inappropriate.. there are sensitive men here.

I’m talking about glamour shots with props appropriate to the person’s interests and a short bio. A geek with her computer, a gamer with her console, a librarian with her books

and she can be suggestively chewing on the arm of her glasses.. and.. the console? What kind of pose did you have in mind? 8O

[I think more backtracking may be needed.. :P ]

I think if you’ll reread what Alex wrote you’ll see that you’ve misinterpreted it.

No, one is meant to be a woman with AS who is tall and attractive enough to seriously consider a modeling career, and I was visualizing something like a shot of her in a one-piece swimsuit being photographed on a modeling set or location. You know, include the photographer in the shot. And I tend to think women in “stick books” probably aspire to be lingerie models, if for no other reason than because they would probably make more money.

I’m sorry, but I feel that you are being overly PC. That’s because I’m personally sick and tired of political correctness. I wish we could all just grow thicker skins and feel free to say whatever comes to mind without so much concern about which groups we might offend, which I can see you have and do. Nevertheless, I do appreciate your input as an aspie woman. However, it’s those nasty stereotypes about aspies that I would liberate all of us from. I’ll let somebody else worry about all those nasty stereotypes about women.
