OP, you probably just don't have the dyspraxia that's common with ASDs. I do, so I have a laptop for classes.
It's weird, because I have all of the other symptoms associated with dyspraxia. I've had no sense of direction for most of my life, and am VERY clumsy.

My handwriting used to be neat, at intermediate school, at primary school it was adequate and ditto with now, at secondary school, but the reason is, in intermediate, there was a rule, any work incompleted by the end of the period, was homework, so I finished it off at home. Now, since I have to write so quickly, as this is no longer the case, my handwriting is slightly more messy. Also, to be unique, last year I began starting all of my letters at the bottom, rather than the top, and this may also explain my messiness. I know a few people with AS, and handwriting is not really a certainty, as an equal amount have good handwriting, and an equal amount have bad. So, I am putting this down to an ordinary person, and not a trait.
In a book by Lucy and Stephan Hawking, aimed at 11-13 year olds, there is a highly suspected AS boy named Emmitt, he has neat handwriting as mention in The Cosmic Treasure Hunt, when meeting George's deaf grandmother.
The last paragraph was sort of unneccesary, I admit, but as I try to do, I have provided a Statement, Explanation and Example, or as my school summarises, S.E.X (I still think it should be S.E.E).
Thanks for the info. Very helpful.
