Had to go up on Wikipedia to find out what small talk is, and I can say that I'm able to pull it off quite well!

I do not see how you have anything to complain about. The person who was being an idiot was kicked from the chatroom. What more do you want??

Video taped dipped in hot tar and then feathers. And it posted on YouTube

hahaha OK that would be rather nice.

Never go near them these days. Was in one with a group of NTs who set me up to take the blame for something they were doing on a mainstream site, and of course I never saw it coming. Can't think through things fast enough when there's more than one person talking.

Well, sounds just like my experience with the chat room at Braingle.com . I really think they should have an age limit, or at least separate chat rooms for different age groups.

"Can't think through things fast enough when there's more than one person talking".
(How do you do that quotation thingy)?

Same here, the topic has usually moved on to something else by the time I've decided what I'd like to say. Conversations move so quickly in chat rooms, when it's good......to have..........time................................to think :)

It's like an overload, like 5000 people responding at once, hundreds of different conversations going at once. It overloads me.

I was in the chatroom, and I decided to ask people if they play DDR (Dance Dance Revolution). The responses I have received were something along the lines of, "omg ddr suxors its lame and only losers pley it LOL" I was disgusted. Especially a certain individual (You know who you are), who argued like a five-year-old and couldn't let it go. Later I asked what games they prefer playing, and the same person said "Kingdom Hearts". WTF? It's a kiddy RPG with Disney characters. Anyway, after a few more minutes of him randomly dissing DDR he got kicked and I thought I was good.

You know, I don't think you're helping your cause by insulting other people's tastes. There are some of us who can appreciate "kiddy" games. Heck, I wouldn't even put Kingdom Hearts in that category, but that's just me. Just because a game has kid-friendly characters in it doesn't mean that it's not a well-designed game that can appeal to adults. Yes, the person in the chatroom was obviously being a jerk, but there's no need to sink to their level.

Crikey! That would be Internet troll! They're a dangerous species and highly Territorial of nerdia. They make a nest around they're computer usually with junk and food, that will probably kill some day, at their nest . They are rarely seen away from they're nest and for some unknown reason they need chat rooms/forums/etc. for their survival and they to stay dominant on there and gain more territory. What they do to capture pray is they stay on this forum and wait for their pray to start communicating they will then make an argument using a dialect of leet(leet:1337) called n00bish acronym, they will start making arguments with they're pray like they would say "omg omg lol u suxxors teh r 2 many sapces after you 1", "omg u re a n00b", "u suxxors don't olny ve 15 p" "omg 10 yr pley it" etc. they do this enough to make their prey see them as a threat; the prey will start breaking the posting guidelines and...BAM! Their banned and the Internet troll gains more territory. Crikey! We better leave this little guy alone.

Sad that people can't share their likes/dislikes without being made fun of. I've been taught from a young age, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
A bit of self-control wouldn't go astray either.

I understand what you're saying!

Some people hold grudges, and that's just them.

We have a very well-rounded group of people here, and I respect that.

Is there more than one person from Australia who responded to the initial message in this topic?

Why does everyone have the view that people on the chatroom are somehow "lesser" than people who only use the forums? It's a stupid assumption. As someone on this thread stated, he goes there to learn smalltalk. I've found it's a great place to learn how to fracture and fragment your concentration, to keep track of different threads. People often complain it just goes too fast, and you have no time to think, but that's just like actual socialization. You don't have time to think in socialization. To everyone who looks at the chatroom as a place for losers, think again. If you can't deal with it, if it's too much for you to try and deal with difficult people, then who're the real losers? Get off your high horses, people.
