I know there's a scientific term for it but I'll try to explain. Basically if you think positive about yourself in the long term you'll also get more positive. Doing the opposite works the same way.
Basically I want to try this, I want to rehearse stuff in my head so eventually I'll believe it.
The main problem here is, I don't really know what to say. I want to try one thing at a time but I don't know what to start with. It needs to be something specific as well. Anybody have any ideas?
I know what you mean, it has to do with phrasing and magnifing positive parts of the situation.
Although I agree with Callista on keeping it realistic (also seeing the opposits and other aspects of the situation which might be less pleasant), only for your emotional state positive thinking helps alot (thinking in possibilities, keeping an open mind, etc.).
Mantra's like suggested in the above posts are good ones, repeating it sixteen times gets it from your shortterm memory to your longterm memory in no-time (has something to do with NLP, but I haven't found a link yet to back it up, so trust me on this one

).
Cheerfully,
