why do we call each other aspies the way black people call each other niggas? if an NT called you an aspie wouldn't you be offended?

I wouldn't like it since the term "aspie" sounds really stupid. It's funny how people here say it constantly being oblivious to how it sounds.

Hmm I learned the word aspie from these boards I thought it was a preferred term if some people find it offensive I will have to try to stop using it. I have classic autism so i'm not an "aspie" I have been called an "autie" though and I don't find it offensive, is there any reason I should?

Oh, but I do love fried chicken or roast chicken. 10 dollar sunday bucket at KFC yum.

By itself, it's not so bad a word, nowhere close to the 'N' word as far as impact goes. But I can easily imagine an NT using it in a way that MAKES it sound bad simply from tone or connotation. Kind of like 'fag' for gays or 'girl' for women, it suggests a familiarity that may not have been earned yet, and comes across as condescending.
