Some smells literally make me gag but it's different ones and I can't think of a lot of them right now. The one I can think of is garlic. There's this lady I know who eats a lot of garlic I think because she reeks of it and I have to breathe through my mouth around her bacause I can't handle it. Yeah, some smells are bothersome. A lof of perfumes make me want to puke too.

The worst smell in the world, IMHO: a very obese person who never bathes, especially if that person is female. I hate the smell of never-washed female privates! EWWWW!

Second worst smell in the world: stillborn, already decomposing baby lambs and goats. Makes me want to heave.....

Third worst smell: decomp in general......

Fourth? Probably cat or dog crap or cigarettes.

The bathroom in the hallway of our house after my grandmother (my father's mom) has just been in there.

Yes, I've had to suffer through that too but it's been a long time now. She just died about 3 weeks ago though. She won't be doing that anymore. I feel kind of bad saying that but it's true.

Oh! Here's one - wet dog. Don't now why but when I was a kid and even now that one just kicks me in the stomache, I've gotta get out of the room most of the time.

hmmm, rotten dairy food just rips my guts...heres why:

when I was a teenager, I used to do cooking and cleaning for this lovely rich lady, who had four lazy kids and she was a terrible house keeper.

One day we made a pizza for tea: and she got a piece of cheese out of the fridge...it was in a plastic container. Well, she opened the container, and the smell of rotting cheese nearly thru me across the room. she inspected the cheese, then asked me to cut off the rotten bits round the edges and grate the remainder for the pizza.

I cut into the cheese and a freakin' maggot crawled out! ... I choked back my guts and weakly suggested praps we should chuck this cheese out? and she was like, 'no way its fine, just cut off the rotten bits'. I had to do it, I grated the cheese and sprinkled it on the pizza. During this I somehow did a small spew with my mouth closed, some of which came out my nose.
The smell of spew combined with that of rotten cheese is the smell of hell. and the vomit made my throat and nasel passages burn.

DISGUSTING!

Oh crap! I have a nasty aversion to bad smells. Its not that I have any extraordinary sense of it, its just that I'm while sensitive to what I can smell. Its usually cooked food like curry or onions that make me go haywire.

Rotten eggs, or a similar smell when someone's farted, usually leads to the call of "OPEN ALL THE CAR WINDOWS"! !!

Also on Friday evenings I usually pass a meat processing factory and on that day they usually burn unwanted parts of animals. It doesn't smell nice at all.

My mom had to sit next to this old lady with pee-bags in a wheelchair once on the bus. Let's just say that she wasn't too fond of it.

Perfumes that use alcohol as a binding agent really sting my nose and give me a headache. Its not so unpleasant as it is just painful.

A couple of weeks ago, though, I smelled something that has definitely topped my list of horrible smells. I was walking to work via the usual route from the bus stop, just going past one of the many sports bar jock hangouts. There was a Mr. Rooter truck parked outside, I guess they were cleaning up some kind of sewage or clogged drains or something. I was downwind from the tank as I walked by, and the smell was indescribable. There is no smell out there I have ever smelled like this. Whatever it was, it was definitely rotten, and my only possible guess is that it was just a combination of rotten grease, sewage, vomit, vegetable matter, animal matter... I was turning green waiting at the stop light, really wanting it to switch soon....

Smells usually don't bother me. One sticks in my head though I had jumped out of a truck in high weeds and brush my foot landed on a bloated dead skunk it was really bad I felt like getting sick. I moved it with a shovel about 100 yard away but it was too late it was on my boots and had to deal with it the rest of the day

I don't know if anybody's mentioned it yet so...

Bytric acid, one of the stomach acids, which is why vomit smells the way it does... it's also in parmesan cheese; throw it on something acidic like tomato sauce and thanks, you're ruined a perfectly good plate of pasta for me.

Some people may think my hating that smell is childish but I don't care.

that reminded me of one real vomit-inducing one: New Car. there's just something about the new car smell that gives me instant travel sickness and an instant headache. why on earth do people buy new cars when the smell is so utterly disgusting? it takes years of airing for that foul odour to go away.

on a recent visit to oxford i experienced an unfortunate reminder of a combination which is even worse than BO And Deodorant. it's Professor And Mothball  it's a smell that takes decades to ferment, in an airless cupboard, as the chemicals in the mothballs slowly react with the living biological ecosystem contained in the never-ever-been-washed armpit of the professors jacket. the result is unmistakable, and certainly unbreathable!
