Excellent movie.
Recommended if you haven't already seen it.

I really like that film too. It's pretty funny aswell, despite the dark themes.

It's easily the best film I've seen with a character identified as having Asperger's. (The Cry of the Owl is my favorite "Aspie movie," but even though the actor playing the main character has Asperger's in real life, his character is never identified as an Aspie.) I wasn't expecting much, but I felt that it was just as good as the stuff that Pixar cranks out. Even better than some of Pixar's stuff, as a matter of fact. It's certainly better than Cars, anyway.

I've seen it twice, and I would see it again in a heartbeat.

I've seen it twice, though I didn't see lot of humor in it. I was told I have to see it several times before I get it.

I thought some parts were funny and some were sad.

That one fat woman who was giving Max non verbal cues, the kissing and her blinking her eyes at him seemed to be aspie because one, you don't go kissing people who you are not in a relationship with, and two, she should have realized Max wasn't interested in her or he would have started talking to her and maybe ask her out unless he was shy. So she should have backed off, perhaps she was aspie too. She should have just talked to him than doing that non verbal stuff. Max probably didn't have the social skills to ask her why does she always do that to him with her eyes and why is she kissing him and to get off him. I wonder if the woman was aspie too and the movie never mentioned it or maybe she had something else that made her not get the hint Max isn't into her. Maybe that was why the part was funny. They both don't get it.

I saw the movie some years ago when I knew a lot less about aspergers than I do now so although it would be interesting to see again, I am not sure I can - I found it very hard to watch, excellent movie just too sad for me

My friend recommended it to me, and I'm very glad I watched it. It's sad though...

Just the funny parts, not the sad ones.
