Yeah, you've got a point, Ticker.

But cliques and favouritism aren't NT things, they're human things. There's people I absolutley hate here. There's people that I haev no respect for. There's the odd few that I love. Most i'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

I guess some things are better thought and not said. I have been against cliques all my life, but I don't really see the harm on people talking about the members that they respect, i'm sure if some of the lower post count people would be respected, too once people get to know them :)

Are you sure about that? I guess that makes me inhuman. 8O

Yep.

There's the odd few people that aren't guilty of it, but if all aspies were in a room I think a lot of us would be. I would certainly avoid talking to the people I hate.

Okay, maybe that would be the way things would turn out...

I guess I thought that as people who know what it feels like to be excluded, we might make a conscious effort to not do that here? Otherwise, heh, we haven't learned much from our differences, and are essentially inferior to the people that exclude us, because what we can't participate in IRL we have to do here? And don't you think that claiming you really hate some people here is a little extreme?

Look, I haven't been registered here for long, so for all I know I came to the wrong place. I didn't come here to be able to form cliques and talk about how great some person I've never met is for the sake of their self esteem or have the same thing expected of them. I came here to talk to people like me who feel they have learned something from being outside the social sphere, hopefully about what is and isn't important etc etc.

People are very guilty of being hypocrites. I was excluded all my life, and sure knows what it's like. At WP< I tend to exclude myself. I understand what you mean, looking into the site when you're newly registered.

I think you'll find people will give you a chance here, you don't need to worry about being left out. The sad thing about the internet is that it's the spammers and attention whores that get the most praise, because they're the well known people.

I, myself, disagree with that philosophy and am 99% more likely to give my respect to the likes of you.

Thanks. But what I'm saying is that being "left out" isn't an issue for me. I don't like banter. I'd much rather be able to just talk about stuff, like this, right now.

You are correct, maldoror. I've said the same thing here, previously. This type of thread usually consists of the current in-crowd reinforcing each others ego. I usually have a little wager with myself, before skimming through, as to who will be the main participants. In the old days the mods used to like this kind of thing, and you could be sure that any non-mods who were regularly participating would soon rise from serfdom to those hallowed halls of the inner sanctum.

I mention that because it does demonstrate a point relevant to what you said in a previous post about doubting whether some here had AS. I don't think it demonstrates that, instead how individuals with AS have such a wide range of relative deficits. However, the inability to actively participate in this kind of thread is, I'd speculate, an inability fairly widespread in those who use this site. The ones who do participate, and can worm their way up the social hierarchy are the exception, I reckon. That's not to say they find AS necessarily less debilitating, as they may have deficits in other areas that cause them problems.

I suppose WP is just a microcosm of the real world anyway: there will always be those who are more socially skilled than others. In fact, in the WP context, these people finding themselves in, what is for them, the unique position of being at the top of a social hierarchy will not have had experience to develop the necessary skills to deal with it. But I've not time to expand on that, at present.

That is a stupid thing to say. Why can't people have fun out of this sort of thing? I remember a user named dej tell me a while back that I "didn't have the tranquil personality that comes with aspergers". What an ignorant b***h - the AS community is just as diverse as the NT one.

We can say b***h without replacing the i with an asterisk? Awesome! I didn't know that! I'm going to take full advantage in future posts.

Anyway, SteveK is cool because of the way he emotes. He's ALWAYS typing LIKE THIS!! !! !! ! GEEZ!! !! !! !! SO MUCH PASSION FOR AN ASPIE!! !! !

People here are more NT than they are ASD, judging from this thread to name one example.
I mean picking favourites?
That's stuff NTs do.

I have no favourite. I respect and admire those who resect and admire me.
Easy as that :)

Favourite?

I do enjoy seeing Cockney Reject's posts and the bus pictures. I was brought up near the Bristol bus factory and can remember seeing the buses being built.

Did I say Reject? I meant Rebel.

They are both bands from the seventies and I am old so maybe I could be forgiven.
