Skipping words when writing

This is perhaps just my mind going too quick for my hands, but when writing/typing I often skip words entirely. For example: -

A sentence like "What terrible weather we are having today" in my mind can turn out as "What weather we having today"

I often do not notice this until I slowly re-read said sentence.

Perhaps it is a normal NT thing as I kind of get eager to get things done quickly, if that makes any scence.

Do anyone else skip words when writing?

I do this myself; being in a Creative Writing class which often brings written work of classmates to public attention, however, I have found that this is an issue of anybody who thinks quickly or is writing quickly.

Oh yes. Letters, a word, several words at once and often also entire parts of sentences which means that when I am in the process of writing that some of my sentences trail off into nothingness.

For me this is a very frequent "issue" when writing and I have it due to my ADHD. Throughout my school years (when I did not have a diagnosis of ADHD yet) I learn to write far slower and to try to be as focussed as I can be when I write a longer text but without meds, it still happens very frequently (at school age it was in one out of every two sentences if I were to make an estimate).

With meds it's a whole different story.

My ex did that constantly.

I do this all the time.

Constantly. And even in proof reading it, my mind will fill in the missing letter/word/punctuation. One of my worst fails is forgetting to put the 'n't' contraction on words. Forgetting those three little characters completely changes the meaning of your words and I never see it until the comments start flying...

All the time. I have to proofread my writing carefully.

I do this often as well. I also frequently repeat small repeat small fragments of sentences.

I do something similar. I will be typing a sentence like "What terrible weather we are having today" in my mind its correct but ill type out "What terrible terrible we are having today"
Doesnt matter how big or small the word is. I will say a word to myself in my head but I repeat the very last word typed on the keyboard. I usually proofread everything I type for this and corrective reason.

very often indeed, although it happens more often while typing then when actually writing.
i figured that this is becouse i think faster then i can type, even though i'm about the fastest typer among my friends (to my knowledge at least), so at some point, i skip a few words so that my hands can catch up with my brain.
this is less common when writing on paper, since i need to actively control my hands to write, making me think slower, but typing is a reflex, so i dont think while doing that...

I do it - I have to re-read anything I have typed at least once to make sure everything is there. I am NT but I suspect that I am dyslexic and was worse as a child when this was more of a problem.

I do this a lot, but I think it's a pretty normal thing to do it sometimes.

That's one of the purposes of proofreading - to pick up these things.

The problem is that when proofreading you often read what you think you wrote, not what you actually wrote. For this reason I use text-to-speech when I'm proofreading (or if it's a rare occasion when I've written by hand, I'll read out loud to myself).

Yep, I noticed this as well, both when writing and typing.

I think everybody does this.
