Ignorant. He was nice about it though. When I corrected him, he didn't seem offended, and was grateful for the more accurate information. He told me that it wasn't something he had a lot of knowledge on, and that it was important for me to see someone who
did. Most of the doctors I've seen have misinformation about it, anyway, so I'm used to it. I was lucky, though, to have one psychiatrist with a special interest in aspergers and autism, and he believes I have it. Though I'm an adult now, and he's a child psychiatrist, which is why I just switched to a new one. I was also unlucky at another point, because a counsellor I was speaking to was ignorant prejudiced, and a HUGE f*****g a**hole. I could go on, but I definitely think most doctors just aren't properly informed about autism spectrum disorders since it isn't something they need to know every detail about. It makes me glad that I can't be diagnosed by any old psychologist or psychiatrist in BC.
