When i was a child, i've had brief obsessions with various people that i knew. One was another child in grade school, the other was a mentor i looked up to.

Now, i obsess over skateboards and bmx bikes, especially if they are good ones.

Yes, often several people at once. Never celebrities, just normal people.

I've never been obsessed with people. My obsessions were material or otherwise. But recently I met someone and we started talking and they have completely taken over my life. My thoughts are consumed by this person and I just cannot stop. I've never been in a relationship before, maybe it's just something normal that happens idk, but man I cannot even go one minute without thinking about them. I don't know how to describe it, I never thought I could fall in love...

I know I sound like a creep or stalker-ish but I wouldn't imagine ever doing anything like that. It's just to the extent of taking over my thoughts 100%. I also haven't told this person yet because I'm scared it will freak them out. So for now I will continue torturing myself with thinking about them. :D

I can't even imagine why someone would be obsessed with another person.

I can't explain my obsession either. All I can say, is I don't want it.

This. I obsess over objects, I used to obsess over WW2 Fighter aircraft like the British Spitfire or the Focke-Wulf FW-190. I know every rivet on those aircraft from technical drawings. I am now officially obsessed with space probes.

People? can't relate, they are all built from the same genetic code base, are only unique based on what kind of hat they wear and often die.

But has anyone ever found themselves obsessing over a person or a persons life? Now by this, I don't mean someone you are in love with that you can't get out of your mind. I mean it as just the same type of interest as with the subjects. Maybe it's a celebrity or sports personality. Maybe it's someone who runs an activity that you attend, a community figure or even just a friend of yours. Whoever it is, you are perhaps interested in how they live their lives, their activites and what it must be like to be them.

So yes, have you had a special interest based on a person and their lives?

Yes, several times. They were always females I for some reason looked up to and wanted to befriend. they were always people I knew from school or my neighborhood. The first was a baby girl I wished was my sister when I was 6, two in elementary school were girls my age, the rest were girls/women some years older than me.
Just thinking about it now I can think of ten cases throughout my life, with varying degree of intensity. In fact those obsessions have been the only times I have been actively interested in getting to know anyone IRL. I'm extremely aloof and disinterested in doing anything but my own interests otherwise. Often the person has had a connection to a theme I'm obsessed about or curious about, but not always.
