I have a kitten and multiple people including my vet has said he was spoiled.

I worry about him. When it's hot I worry that he is too hot. He gets fed at least every 3-4 hours and will only eat canned food or people food. He can't have the people food though because it gives him diarrhea. I didn't like people holding him when he was smaller. Now I guess it's ok because he can fight back.

He has never been home alone more than about 5 minutes and I haven't been away from him longer than 2 hours. If I shut him in my bedroom or out of the bedroom or bathroom he'll frequently wait outside for me or cry.

He likes to sleep on me or near me a lot and he still nurses from my fingers.

I really dread getting him neutered and getting his shots. I'm worried that he'll have a bad reaction and I'm going to feel awful leaving him at the vet. I don't know how I'll manage to go several hours without feeding him. He'll cry.

I'm not even sure how old he actually is because I got him from outside but I had him 9 weeks now.

I know exactly what you mean. And people often remark that cats have no affection for their owners and wouldnt miss them if they werent there. I dont think so! I constantly fretted about our cat and got quite upset when he went awol a few times. But he was the same with us, and would keep going around looking for anyone who was away rather than following his usual routine. I found that Cats will bond if you level up and rub noses. Its what they do socially with other cats and it seems to mean something to them when a human does it. Gotta read the moment right if you dont want trouble though

Ohhh yes. I remember when my father brushed my cat after I specifically told him not to. He brushed him to the point where his fur was so thin in one place that I could see his skin a bit through it. I later found out from my sister that he'd brushed him for almost an hour. I remember coming into the kitchen, seeing a huge pile of fur on the floor beside my dad, who was still in the process of brushing. I scooped my cat up, feeling so angry that I thougt I might vomit, put him in my room, went back to the kitchen and slapped my dad across the face as best I could with tears blinding me. I told him to NEVER touch my cat again, ever. I then had a meltdown in the privacy of my own room, I could hardly breath I was so enraged.

It was the one and only time I have been that angry in my life. I usually go out of my way to avoid confrontation and I have never, ever hit anyone except for that one time.

I don't know.... but sometimes when I hear a loud noise I often worry whether my cat has fell and hurt himself or something. I often go and check it out just in case. Does that count?

He's a Bengal and a house cat, so sometimes when he escaped out into the street somewhere I get terribly worried and have images in my head of him being stolen or lost or killed.

Yes. I am over protective and paranoid when it comes to my dogs. The only person who is ever allowed to look after them is my Mother. That's it. When I am at work I worry about them, and if I go away overnight I often end up hysterical. It's not good.

I get scared for my pets.

I had a dog once with a tumor, and when it was identified the veterinarian said that it was probably a very painful tumor. My dog had never showed any sign of pain (apparently this is common in Labradors). Since then I've been terrified that my pets are in pain and don't know how to communicate it.

I'm nervous about sounds that are too high-frequency for the human ear to detect causing discomfort to animals. I'm worried about feelings like headaches, sore throats, depression, and other conditions that I wouldn't know how to identify or treat. I'm worried about temperature - I'm very paranoid about death because the body temperature decreases to room temperature on death (a condition known as hypothermia in a living animal), and I worry that the animal is "still in there" and is feeling cold. I worry about whether my pets actually like the food I'm giving them, or if they hate it and eat it eagerly only because they're hungry.

I don't think it's productive. I wish I had some kind of telepathic way to feel what an animal is feeling.

I totally enjoy my pet's company. I am closer to them than I am with most people. That being said, I am a bit overprotective, and don't like many people picking them up, etc.

I'm very overprotective of Chico. He's my everything and I'll do anything to keep him safe.

I have an orange cat (his name is Mr Orange) and he is 14 now. He's my best friend for sure. When I go to bed, he gives me 5 minutes to settle in then he snuggles up in the crook of my arm to be cuddled to sleep and he purrs me to sleep. He always knows if something really bad is going on and at those times he will sit and lick the back of my hands very gently or stroke tears away from my cheeks with his paw. I nearly lost him when some psychopath slashed him last year, but his wounds just missed his heart thank goodness and he's all healed now and no after effects from surgery. I love him for his hugely affectionate and gentle nature. He likes birds and is quite happy to share his foodbowl with them, and the blackbirds do share his breakfast sometimes. He's my "old soul" cat. I love him sooo much.

When I see people who are not overly protective of their pets, I get mad because they should not have pets. I would do most anything to protect my dog Lazarus and he for me.

I am very protective of pets and other animals. If I ever saw someone harming an animal, or trying to, I'd probably do anything to protect it, and I'm normally a very placid person. People who hurt animals are one of the few things that can make me genuinely angry.

Are you a vegan?

Vegetarian. I do try to avoid most animal products but I'm not strict about it. I have on-and-off periods of total veganism (well, as total as it can be, it's pretty much impossible).

While I'm not fond of the methods used to obtain milk, etc, at all, I meant if I saw somebody trying to physically wound or kill an animal.

Don't worry, I don't judge omnivores or try to convert people. :)

I'm constantly telling people who come in and out of my house to watch the door because my dogs will try to get out. They are big and my neighbor is a nutjob and afraid of all dogs and said she would shoot them if they got out. Also, we live near a fairly busy road and a few years ago one of our dogs got out and got hit on it. They are also trying to dig out of the back yard. My thing is trying to keep them in the house or back yard. Otherwise I'm just your average pet owner.

I know I am, and I always have been. Even though I (thank goodness) have never had a dog run away or get lost, nor had any kind of accident, I've been fearful that such a thing may happen, and have therefore limited the dogs' freedom probably more than most people would.

I have a panic attack if I realize that a door or gate has blown open somehow, and I can't get my pulse to slow down 'til I physically see and account for all our pets.
