I'm wondering if anyone else finds there is a link between anxiety and depression. Basically, when you get anxious for at least a short amount of time, does this turn into depression? How this works for me will vary. For instance, I detest tidying my house, feels so overwhelming that it makes me anxious. Pretty quickly, sitting there doing nothing, I'll get depressed. By contrast, if one of my co-workers is making me anxious, I'll probably remain anxious throughout the day but will get depressed when work ends. So how long I'm anxious before depression occurs seems to vary on the situation. Also, it does not always happen. For example, I often get anxious whilst shopping but usually I just try and cope with the anxiety and finish shopping as quickly as possible, usually quick enough to avoid depression. Anyone else find that anxiety can cause depression, or that it does not (though obviously depression can occur from other sources as well)?

Depends on how depressed or anxious you are. might not sound like a big deal, but circumstances happening around you, like you're saying in your work environment, can create a huge impact on how real your situation gets when you have trouble thinking in a constructive way if your job is high maintenance. If you suddenly find yourself taking large amounts of painkillers for everyday usage, then you can be sure something is wrong and when you know you are right but someone else doesn't share your need for any type of concern you may end up on the receiving end of some very necessary judgement, false or otherwise, all im saying is you don't have to be a genius to figure out that most of the symptoms you pause to think or feel have much definition for added consequence, but if you can indeed be rational enough to come to a conclusion based on some 'real ' solid judgement without any active interference then you may just be able to court all your belongings to a significant end or renewal. If you need active therapy from someone to tell you things you know deep down you already know, then feel free to waste your own money. I know, I' ve been there and back down through the pipeline and back out again, and from what my gut instinct told me, was never put yourself through that again.

My anxiety seems to linger around for days hidden in the background somewhere, waiting for depression to latch itself on.

They do seem to go hand in hand.
