Ok, I'll go straight to the topic:
I've always got that urge when I feel happy and excited at the same time. It's like as though I'd want to shout, make a noise but until now I could sustain it quite welse l . Maybe that's how tourettes feel? It's just a very powerful urge.
During the past weeks I always get that feeling every day and I know what's the cause. I don't see it as a real problem but I want to know if anyone has this kind of "urge" as well?

If I'm that happy, for sure! Seems normal to me. Think of all those people who win gameshows, dancing up and down and whooping and hugging everyone.

Yes I think it's perfectly normal. It must be because I do it all the time.

Most people seem to do it... so yeah, it's normal.

Every time I did it I got in trouble. There must be a social rule about this and I did it wrong. Even my special ed teacher didn't allow any of her students to do this. We all had to use indoor voices and even if in public and we were outside, we still had to use indoor voices. Maybe the teacher didn't like loud screaming. I was made to sit out once when I was six because when I screamed with excitement, it hurt the speech therapist's ears and I was made to be excluded from the rest of the class.

It's an overwhelming feeling, a warmth and knot in the gut. That's how I could describe that feeling that I have.
I screamed at an ice cream parlour before when I saw a classmate and was happy. Everyone stared at me. Quite embarrassing but thank goodness the table we had was outside. At work I'd start to jump about but that's apparently not normal too as colleagues would start to say I'm being mad.
So yea, i contain it most of the time.

Hi Sweetleaf: yea, sometimes I don't know what's normal and not normal. There are many things I'd consider normal but others apparently didn't. So better ask than do things wrong again hehe

I would not know. Screaming when perceiving something new, very confusing for me. Mom and aide are both around when this happens. Grunting when happy to see someone...my preferred way of saying hello.

I know somebody (an NT) who does this all the time for even minor things - he can drive me crazy at times, but it is probably his way of releasing energy.

Personally I am very quiet, even when I get excited. I might make some noise in situations where it is expected and around the right people, such as riding a roller coaster, but even then I keep the volume reasonable.

When I get excited I jump up and down and flail my arms, and make very odd sounds.
