"Honestly" or "to be honest" creeps me out because it makes me wonder what they are NOT being honest about 8O

What a wonderful topic! I did not realize others might hate certain words, too! First, though, I hate it when people whistle their S's. Like Gopher on Winnie the Pooh. This isn't really related to words, but when musicians breathe during their songs, I've always hated that. Scraping guitar strings drove me insane as a little girl, but I don't really listen to acoustic music anymore.
Ok, the words that Idespise are:
1. Delicious
2. Arrive
3. Crispy
4. Chapped
5. Atrocious

I'm sure I could think of more...

If you are ever in a life threatening situation at sea, and the coastguard comes in, you'll change your mind about that.

If you are ever in a flood or wildfire and the National. Guard come in, you'll change your mind about that.

If you are ever caught in a foreign crisis, and the Marines come in and get you home, you'll change your mind about that.

If you are ever facing violence in the street and the police arrive, you'll change your mind about that.

You are taking an old, old quip too seriously ... Yes, the government has legitimate functions. However, as time passes and the reach of the State grows, the odds increase that when I deal with a government official, he will be violating my rights rather than protecting them.

Since you like theoreticals, here's one for you: You happen to glance out your front window and notice several sedans parking out front. They have government license plates. A number of burly men in suits get out, wordlessly walk up to your door, and ring the bell. If you are perfectly calm and unworried, congratulations; you are part of the ruling elite. The rest of us, no matter how law-abiding, are more than a little perturbed.

Small Talk .. which is the lubricant of the above two.

'Dont give up you'll find someone' - oh just switch the chainsaw to full throttle while I pull my pants down...

'There's plenty of fish in the sea' - ... but im in the middle of the desert O.o

Normal - Should be scrubbed from all dictionaries.

Team building - I will never need to build a makeshift bridge across a stream out of scaffolding planks with these people.......ever!

Attendance is compulsory - Why? So lots of people can come up, invade my personal space and say "Cheer up, it may never happen!" when by so doing and saying what they said, it already has.

The words 'Networking" or 'Collective."

Both make me think of "Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. We are the Borg."

"Vomit" and almost everything with "Mucus."

Are almost always used in something that involves Too Much Information.

"Nugget."

Almost always makes me think of "I just dug a big fat nugget out of..." :eew:

I've only recently developed a desire to not hear the words, "snowstorm headed our way." Just until next year, not forever.

Surprised no one put Autism Speaks.

Not that I am on either side of that hot mess of a debate.

For job descriptions, multitasking is definitely the worst.

For personal life, it's more phrases than words; stuff like "come on and join in" or "it'll be fun" for NT typical activities that I have no interest in whatever. The most recent one was my brother talking about my 50th birthday in a year or so: "Come and stay with us, we'll go out on the town and get you drunk." No thanks, not my thing.

I swear if he adds "We'll fix you up with somebody", i.e. for some meaningless one-night-stand, I will shoot him :P

Facebook, Twitter, texting and social networking in general
Cell phone (though I will have to buy one soon, no longer having Onstar for in-car emergencies)

I don't understand why people want to be accessible 24/7 for other than emergencies. Most of the conversations and messaging sound totally inane and narcissistic to me. Nor can I begin to fathom why people want to spread their prinate lives all over the Internet.
