I don't particularly like cats, am more of a dog person. Dogs to me are warmer, more open creatures whereas cats are more distant and aloof. If I am ever old I'll probably buy a cat to keep me company, especially if I ever divorce or become a widower. They seem like a consistent companion and require less works then dogs.

Didn't you hear, cats are just like us. They all have AS.

And yet, I prefer dogs.

I'm sure it does work wonders.

There's plenty of documentation about the healing effects of cats purrs.

Also, an AS friend of mine has cats and I know they're very soothing for him.

I could see maybe having a pet cat someday, but not where I'm living now.

I like cats OK but I find dogs more therapeutic because their more predictable & consistent. I'm an Aspie who loves predictability & has a very hard time with inconsistency & is sensitive to the tone/pitch of cats meowing.

Hunting feral cats is quite therapeutic for me. The fact that there's none here anymore (government baited them to deathly death), doesn't detract from the therapy.

Fixed myself.
