Lmao.

I haven't played a Sonic game in a while... not since Christmas 2013. Honestly, my video game phase ended 5 years ago or so. I haven't really been interested in video games ever since. I have, however, been interested in GTA modding from time to time, but last time I was into that was 3 years ago. (I wonder how many aspie GTA modders are out there; probably plenty, I imagine). I have no interest in Minecraft or MLP.

It's just a nerd thing I guess, and how aspies have a "nerd" stereotype which doesn't seem to carry over so much for me. I'm more into rugby and 90s hip hop over here.

Also, the concept of gender roles IMO are BS societal speaking. I don't care if I'm more masculine or feminine. I am who I am.

I think it started with people from the internet who have an opinion that counts more than the rest and they just decided that they think that you're automatically autistic when you like Sonic or Minecraft.
I'm pretty sure that they don't even know how autism works, they just took a franchise that had a certain audience and labeled them as autistic and tries to make anyone who likes those games look like an idiot.
It doesn't make any sense at all.

^Autistic is essentially now a "boogeyword" like gay, fa***t, etc.... how sad.

The majority of people online have no idea what the f**k autism even is. They just think the term works well as an insult.

It is sad. I won't deny, years ago I decided to quit using words like "gay" and "fa***t" in a derogeratory sense, but I still catch myself describing things as "ret*d", even though I know that there's nothing inherently wrong with having an intellectual disability. In a perfect world, a "fa***t" would just be a bundle of sticks, people would have no problems with being "gay", and to "ret*d" something would simply mean to hold something back.

MLP is for young girls. Men simply started watching it as well.

For Sonic, it's ignorant people with negative stereotypes for autism. Basically the series went into the toilet, and the fanbase sucks, so Sonic fans are obviously autistic. Duh. There is also a couple autistic lolcows who are fans of Sonic.

I think masculinity in general is stupid. I seek to be a good person, not a good man.

I suppose I don't see why liking sonic has to be a negative stereotype, from what I have seen of it its a kind of entertaining game. And perhaps its best to let the term lolcow die instead of add it to our vocabularies as an adjective....to describe other autistic individuals.

And the shows I was into as a kid where a lot of times more aimed at young boys...IDK I think its stupid to try to specify an audience for something like that. I mean sure one could make a show with a certain demographic in mind...but the thinking of 'that's for girls' 'that's for boys' actually being pushed bothers me, I mean who the hell cares? So a guy might wear a MLP shirt, I have a Ninja Turtles shirt I wear sometimes.....Some people in my age group have a lot of Hello Kitty Stuff, or might be seen wearing a Care Bears shirt or even Rainbow Brite I've seen such merchandise at Hot Topic...of course any of you born later than 1995 might not know of those ones, so I guess I don't see why MLP gets all the bad wrap its not really unique from the above mentioned ones aside from Ninja Turtles which is obviously more about fighting the bad rather than friendship and magic.

Right over here! Dropping 8x8 soviet trucks into Las Vegas, raising the sea level a mile or 3 & flying greyhounds over area 51 is a great passtime if one can squeeze it onto a laptop!

Sonic's clumsy and Minecraft's nerdy. Both depict and attract autistics each in their own way.

It's one thing to say that "only boys" or "only girls" should enjoy something. But it's an entirely other thing to claim that a cartoon that was aimed at young girls was actually aimed at men - especially considering how many such shows are aimed at boys and how even good shows that were aimed at boys get canceled because girls turn out to be the primary audience (this happened with Young Justice).

I wasn't saying only girls should watch MLP:FIM. I was correcting the misinformation that MLP:FIM was supposedly created for men. It wasn't. Men have simply chosen to watch it.

Oh, that makes sense I suppose you are right about that.

The people who think MLP:FiM is terrible generally haven't watched it.

Now, the earlier incarnations of MLP were terrible, most MLP fans agree.
