Are there aspies out there who have many topic of interests? Is it uncommon for someone with aspergers to have no real in depth information about their topic of information.
There are lots of things I'm interested in, but only up to a certain level. For example, I love science, watch science shows, subscribe to science magazines... but have zero interest in seeing much less learning the math behind it, or the diagrams of how it works, or the details of the chemical reactions, or how the experiments were carried out, etc. For this reason, I do NOT subscribe to Scientific American, which is filled with that sort of stuff.
Like with most other things, I think there's a wide range that's totally normal for us in this area. Medical and psychiatric types often don't want to describe things in terms of ranges, and the media certainly doesn't, so we keep hearing these proclamations that make it sound like we're all exactly the same way in a bunch of areas when in fact we're not.

In a rational world, those who act in rational ways would be considered normal, and those who act in irrational ways that they somehow decided were "right" would be the freaks.
