I'm referring to low PSI (processing speed index) across the board; processing information both academically and socially. I know this is the case in ADHD, and I know that Tony Attwood mentioned that aspies like to do things "pedantically" (perhaps out of perfectionism/fear of making mistake), but does low PSI go under the category of well know autistic traits like black or white thinking, rigid thinking, weak central coherence, or superior long-term memory? Or is the "bell-curve", so-to-speak, for aspies and PSI reflective of the general population (ie no correlation between AS and low PSI).

I tell people that my brain is so massive, packed with so much information, that it takes me a while to sift through it all.

When it come to figuring out social situation. Then yes, I think the AS mind is slow. But when it comes to engineering, my mind works quite fast. This is a really tough question to ask and I think it's mostly depanded on the person in question.

I defiantly feel like my mind is slow both socially & academically but academically may be due to my dyslexia & ADD which are common comorbids with Aspergers.

I probably do have slow processing speed. With verbal instruction, it may take several repeats for me to fully understand what's going on.

I have that problem. I wish everyone would just give me written instructions because I can process them SO much better!
