We have a large SB in our general area but I prefer the smaller ones in Target. The stand alones have all the negative appeal of a McDonald's to me. Loud, smelly, crowded, staff with headsets on for drive through, etc. Probably ok for most people as they do a booming business.

Staff is good. Facilities are clean. It just amazes me though how people can get any work done with their laptops....people use SB as an office.

Anyone here a SB fan?

I love coffee, but my reaction to Starbucks is "meh."

As you noted in the OP, there are less famous places to go for a coffee that are quieter and more pleasant. Indie coffee houses have lost a lot of business to the big chain, and would really love your business.

I hardly ever go out for a coffee because it's so much cheaper at home. But if I were single, I'm sure I would go, because I like to be around people occasionally even if I don't interact much. Right now though, my life is overfull, so it's brew at home/drink at home.

I go to Indie places. I love going out for coffee. One of my vices. I live near the major Florida attractions in the Orlando Metro but prefer little tea rooms and coffee houses. I'm married as well. He likes going out for coffee on Sunday afternoons.

I like the Starbucks at Target because I can get a coffee drink and walk around Target with it. I like malls that have Starbucks in them too.

Nobody in my family is all that much into coffee so I don't get dragged in one very often. Plus the fact there aren't very many of them here in the Seattle area.

The noise aren't a problem to me, actually. My problem is the prices.
I never had anything from Starbucks yet, though I'm curious to try if I ever have the budget.

No, I'm not into coffee. If I had been, I still would def have enjoyed it at home instead.

Neither do I, and even if I did, I certainly wouldn't buy it at a coffeeshop -- not because coffeeshops are too noisy, but because it's an expensive habit.
I once figured out that if you bought one small coffee per day, every day (that's $1.60 at Tim Hortons), it would cost you... $584 per year! But, if you cut the coffee drinking for four years, you'd have $2,336, and that would be enough to buy yourself a car. Not a nice fancy one, but a car that's at least driveable. Or you could save the money for retirement.

Coffee houses are just once a week if that much for me. It's a quality of life thing for me to get a latte at Target or the French cafe. I save in other areas of my life so I can this wee luxury.

I also like local craft beer so I go to one of those places nearby. Beer there is obscenely cheap. You sit outside and relax.

That’s some expensive coffee.

I too prefer the Starbucks chains that are connected to Target stores, I even like Target itself as it seems more tranquil and quiet than it's competitor Walmart even though it has the same amount of people.

I went to a Starbucks located in Fort Collins on Tuesdays and Thursdays last semester. I was fine when it was sparsely occupied, but when more people started showing up it became stressful and I left to go to college for the day.
