There are so-called “minorities” who are prejudiced—prejudice is not the sole reserve of the “majority.”

I’m a white, cisgendered male who is not immune to prejudice.

Neither is a black trans woman.

Prejudice is universal.

I can believe some school shooters might be Aspies, though. When I was being viciously picked on in middle school, I seriously thought about taking revenge on everyone more than once. Since I had and have a fairly strong sense of right and wrong, mass murder always ended up being the wrong choice. I can believe that some less sane individuals or those with less impulse control would be capable of shooting up or blowing up a school with everyone in it. In their minds, the school with everyone in it might come to represent the root of all injustice in their world and the Aspie tendency for moral outrage might cause tragic consequences.

I was viciously picked on consistently from 1st grade till almost the end of high school. About 11 straight years.

Never did I conceive of punching anybody except the person who punched me.

In my case, it was (at least I perceived it that way) a war between me and several of the 'popular' cliques at school, and teachers and administrators were not much help. I really did sometimes feel like everyone was against me.

I never received much commiseration from adults—with a few notable exceptions.

I knew what administrators were at an early age. I generally tried to make friends with the adults and ignored the other kids. Being really smart was a double-edged sword. Would have had a really easy Asperger's diagnosis if one existed back then, because I was the classic 'little professor'.

I was a totally oblivious child, oblivious to others around me.

Exactly. Even when I was explicitly told this, I told the person who told me 'This is how I am. I don't understand their problem, but please deal with it!'.

It's the politically correct and accepted term for becoming politically aware. Not sure I much like how it sounds either, but it's the word which is in common use for that meaning in that context. Too late for the pebbles to vote.
