Sometimes you can be much more eloquent than I could ever hope to be, even though we share similar opinions.

Thank you  I'm often too lazy to go further than one paragraph.

It's hard to feel motivated if you're not certain that anyone will read more, or when you make the calculation that the bigger the block of text, the more people who will decide it's not worth the effort.

TBH, I'm just lazy and often disinterested or apathetic, when something really catches my interest I'll make an effort. I'm used to people here being more attracted to drama and don't care much if a long and serious post doesn't get replies.

I just had too much free time today

We actually used to call what you're describing as 'being politically aware'. There was the implied connotation that if you looked at politics deeply enough, you would "become aware" that popular culture was "politically incorrect" and built on a long history of lies (or at least of selective truth-telling). I guess you might also say there was the hidden message "if you aren't progressive on these issues, you're not aware of what's really happening". We described 'white privilege', etc. in different terms as well. I guess there are new terms for all that now. Just be aware that old-school lefties may still refer to it using our older terminology. We'll be glad to translate any unfamiliar terms to anyone who asks. They also sound a bit strange to us, even if we've been keeping track of current usage. A bit of issue orientation for outsiders and newcomers is always beneficial to any political cause. We used to have halfway-decent social studies and history instruction in school, before the advent of 'teaching to the test'.

Since I was brought up as a conservative (shocker!), I have been on both sides of some issues (though I've never been racist; I do understand the mindset, though). I decided about 30 years ago that my morals and my politics were incompatible. One had to change. I prefer to discuss politics in precise terms (umm, Aspie) and not use buzzwords. I am aware of the buzzwords, though.

I think the rabbit is getting tired of the protracted intrusion into his home, so I'm climbing out of this rabbit hole now. Leaving some hay and dandelion greens. Good night, Mr. Rabbit.

@Bender and others. Thank you all for taking some of your time to offer your criticisms of the essay. For the most part, I feel surprised and gratified that it seems I have actually hit the mark effectively, and somewhat disruptively.

TBH, looking at the meat of your critique, it seems as if you might have missed some parts of the essay, or perhaps there is some way I should further emphasize this understanding?:

"None of us are all “autistic” or all “neurotypical”. Each of us, regardless of which label (or other neurodiverse label) may best summarize our experience, has a completely unique landscape of psychological and experiential patterns. I am autistic, but there are probably ways that I’m a better “NT” (ie. Neurotypical, with “normal wiring”) than you are. Most people can relate to a general experience of fitting in as normal, yet they tend to report also having (often hiding) inner experiences which seem to diverge from what is considered socially acceptable, or natural."

As such, when I see autties acting like NT's, lying, tucking their head in the sand, or fighting for rank, for example, I'm not surprised (though I do feel disappointed just as when other humans do such things). I have often popped into this forum (with other long-lost usernames) but not had the time to weed through the interpersonal muck, such as you describe.

Furthermore, much of the nastiness that comes from some autties, such as here at WP, can generally be understood to have arisen as a necessary defense in the hostile early family environment and later social world.

As for the critique that NT's can also be into sciences, etc., I redirect your attention to the opening of that section of the essay, "Like many neurotypical people, males tend to pursue..."

And for those who feel the essay is overly harsh or intended to draw in all readers, let us all agree that it does not do that, and that doing so must not, in fact, be the aim.

To the criticism that there are other types of neurodiversity out there besides autism, this paragraph might be helpful to reread: "There are other delineated diagnoses that fit into the wide-ranging umbrella of neurodiversity, though I do not attempt to speak for those perspectives. If you are interested, here is an article exploring neurodiversity in a more inclusive way."

There is a war happening out there, and it is a war of highly social SJW's vs. less social people (with autties being especially innately under-socially motivated). When any human does not do the social rituals correctly, we are immediately and automatically named, shamed, blamed, and defamed. And they believe in their hearts they are cleansing the world of bad guys: racists, oppressors, patriarchy, fascists. Truly, one need not commit a single act of explicit racism, for example, in order to be tried as GUILTY! in the court of public opinion. They write the word "justice" on their warhammers with sharpie markers and then NO ONE CAN STOP THEM from hacking you to death, and a crowd of some size will be standing nearby, cheering on your being murdered. "Justice Will Prevail!" "Hurrah!"

I am advocating for the discontinuation of the social genocide of neurodiverse climate activists, and my original audience are the power-motivated and corrupt SJW in my own climate organizations who have set aside working on climate to "destroy" autties, for example: Roger Hallam, who is an adult version of Greta Thunberg--an extinction truthspeaker who doesn't properly duck around uncomforable truths and bob an apologetic curtsy when one person with cappucino skin color feels offended (because they cannot grok the climate death spiral context of his message).

I wish you mentioned the bolded part from the start, my reaction would have been somewhat different! I really thought you were talking to all of us - people on the spectrum can be very literal you know

I know you addressed some of the things I pointed out in your article - it just seemed you attached very little importance to them and now I understand a bit better why.

You obviously have a good mind and heart, you write well and your article screamed PAIN to me in each paragraph; I was genuinely concerned about you getting sucked into this cycle of hate and I still am if you want to fight fire with fire

I'm aware of SJVs. At my age and as a lover of history, I see them as a minor cultural phenomenon that will soon fizzle out - it's also true that I'm not American and we have a lot less of that here so from that perspective, they seem to be almost exclusively keyboard warriors.

I wish you good luck in your fight, SJV-ism  is indeed a repulsive manifestation of our times.

Got it. Thanks for the many clarifications. Have been in planning committees of several such organizations and run into those people. Would be nice for someone to rein them in, because they do end up giving their respective causes a bad name.

A lot of it is right but autism isn't just a single unique condition. NTs treat you according the way that you are and behave. NT men may also accept an aspie guy on top of their hierarchy once he is the right way and knows how to claim the leadership but only very few aspies are this way. You don't seem to have a big clue about the relations of men just like most women lack this. NT women care different things and value empathy and social intelligence most if it comes to create a social hierarchy. Men care self-confidence, honesty, loyalty and guts most.

I would say "woke" is a certain subtype of "politically aware"

I guess that it may depend on who is applying the label.

Intellectual?  As you stated.

Right-wing / Conservative / Boomer?  Someone vainly trying to seem 'with it' -- "I'm so woke that I fully understand the Black experience."

Left-wing / Liberal / Social-Justice Warrior?  Someone trying to seem more socially virtuous than anyone else -- "You better get woke, fool; 'cause if you ain't woke, you ain't s***!"
