How do I find "direct" mediators for support?
A lot of people in the healthcare field, when I am asking for support
infantilise me and also use "empathetic language" which i find abusive
because it makes you feel like everything is fine without actually doing anything.
Eg:
"I understand that.."
"It can be hard to ..."
" ...."
I am looking for someone to help mediate a dispute and manage an urgent situation.
Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts about how to do this?
What are your red flags?
Dispute mediation usually requires the agreement of the two parties to the authority of the mediator.
If what is in dispute is a lease, contract or other legal circumstance, mediation may have to have legal approval such as with a judge.
Most people prefer to avoid disputes in general and particularly those in which they are not involved. It might be possible to enlist the aid of someone from a church to act to help settle a dispute, but even here the odds would be against you.
