I have started to the first step in seeking an official diagnosis at 45, I had my first appointment with a consular earlier this week. He asked me a lot of questions if I stimmed, had special interests, my childhood, stress triggers, and the like. I have scored off the charts with online tests.
We'll see how this goes but I am on leave from work right now due to burnout. I was given 4 weeks but I know I am going to need more.

That's pretty much me, I can blend in well enough but getting into middle age I am burning out. I always say, what about people like me? Who own their own home, work full time, and our self-sufficient. I feel folks like me are on their own.
I avoided burnout by retiring at 59! A few years later I'm functioning much better without the stress of work.
My boss always waited to the last moment and counted on me to bail him out. I got tired of that.
Last year I did too much by having too many renovations done on the house. Should have spaced it out more.
But now I'm finally settled into a groove at doing everything at my own pace. As well as all the subtle pressures society places on us to be "normal" when that isn't possible.
A good example is dressing as woman when you are assigned male at birth. I dress very well in upscale XS women's clothes. When I go out everything fits perfectly and folks treat me with respect. I look young enough that everyone sees me. Older women fade into invisibility. Can't do that with men's clothes as I'm too small for Peter Manning's clothes for short men. I'd have to have fully custom clothes made for me.
Been there, done that.
I am "nothing" in earning, job area, but I have doubts if I am autistic which are uncomfortable to me. I fear Divine punishment for (my) sins. I do not want to be (especially in more severe way) punished by God. I do not want to suffer. I do not want to not exist, I do not want to have no consciousness, I do not want to feel no pleasure, I do not want to fear no happiness. I do not want endless damnation to anyone...
I may think and suppose that I am not autistic at all, not just not autistic enough...
