My son has high-functioning autism. His whole life we've been given all kinds of advice as to how we can help him. Well six months ago he turned 16 and I decided it was time to take matters into my own hands to cure him. Using these methods he has now become like any healthy teenage guy.
First I took away his computer and locked my laptop away when I'm not using it, the internet and those god-awful games like WOW were obsessing him and poisoning his mind. I also disposed of all of his japanese animation related products as this too was a poisonous fixation for him. The next step was to encourage pride in his personal appearance, he was always a little dirty and never washed properly so I had his little brother watch him shower and make sure he was squeaky clean, with the threat that if he wasn't I would undertake those duties myself. After about three weeks he was in the habit and needed no further supervision.
Little brother also helped when it came to exercise, forcing his older sibling to run, play catch and generally be active and get his increasingly fat behind outdoors. A further blessing came when my brother moved to town and he has twins the same age as my son. Well they took him under his wing and forced him to be social and get out into the world, they told me they told him how to talk to girls and how to just be what they'd probably call 'a pretty cool guy.'
The last key feature of my regimen is a healthy diet, no junk food and loads of fresh fruit and veg. I've simplified all this a lot for briefness but parents you CAN cure your children of this affliction. REMOVE all of their unhealthy and poisonous obsessions. FORCE them to be social and active, IGNORE their initial distress, it is for their own good. ENLIST the support of other family members and friends.
YOU CAN DO IT! YOU CAN CURE THEM!! Tell me how you get on.
KINKS KINKS KINKS KINKS KINKS KINKS KINKS KINKS KINKS KINKS! I'm proud of my obsessions. They make the the happy and healthy individual that I am.
