Ok, I understand that it does sound like ass burgers. Yeah its kinda funny. Believe me I have a sense of humor I can take a joke. But honestly it's not funny after a while. And completely honest I've heard NT's say and spell it just like that not even caring that that;s not the proper spelling.
It was funny once, but now drop it, because AS is a real condition and the last thing we need is more of this nonsense

I've honestly in real life never heard it like that. I've always said and heard as-per-jers. As I said in the topic on how to pronounce it I think it may be the standard NZ pronunciation (as-per-jers), but used in other places too.

I just run with it and call it "donkey burgers." If I want to sound serious I'm far more likely to use the initials.

No. Probably because I don't hear it much and never in real life. It does sound like Assburgers when I hear it on TV.

NTs will never get old of humorous phrases that sound like a given phrase.

Like... This country is an obamanation.

This is why I say I am autistic. Techincaly I am HFA because I did not speak until I was four, but I grew up believing I had AS. If I didn't have a speech delay and truely was AS, I probably still would just say I was just autistic. I don't know why people are so deadset against doing away with the term, AS and just calling it HFA. Because that's what it is.

I pronounce it as Ass-Ber-Jers too. Although I fear someone will go into a fit about how incorrect I am.

I hate hearing people do this. Especially when they repeat it over and over like it's supremely clever. And so many repeat it over and over.

It's not a big enough problem to register on my radar. :?

Yes, it's annoying as hell. I am tired of reading it. And now I read it yet again in the title of this thread. :x

I dislike both ass and soft "g" versions, but never mind, not everyone is familiar with German phonetics.

I pronounce it ass-per-gers. Like ass burgers but with a p. There is no b in aspergers.

The G is hard. I think there's a slight accent on the first E, but don't usually bother with it.
