So, this girl yells back to her friend in a table behind her in a faux sad voice...

"Justin is making fun of me!"

And I felt like saying...

"He's making fun of you? Oh, you poooooor baby. Wah, Wah"

*rubs eyes*

But I'm pretty sure that would've been socially inappropriate as I know she was meaning it in a playful way.

So, I was later reading in a book that one of the symptoms of Aspergers is tending to make socially inappropriate comments. Would this thought, or urge, be aspergian?

I'm pretty sure the thought process would be normal, but acting upon it would be Aspergian. Or not. Who knows. But that's not very weird at all, what you described. You wouldn't have even been weird if you said it, but just people would think you're a douche and/or cool.

It would have been inappropriate to walk over and give her a hug. It's a good thing you didn't do that. She probably would have smiled at you, saying a sheepish "shush up" if you had made fun of her for saying something.

If they had a chance to make fun of you to humilate you in front of their friends and peers they would not hesitate to do it. They do it to make themselves feel better about themselves and to look cool in front of people who do not know them, so screw it say something. :P

Yeah, see, there's that whole "retaliation factor" and "ongoing ill will" factor going on when you start making fun of people within the "popular circle". If someone would've retaliated because I came across as too hostile, there'd be no way I could've kept it up and I pretty much would've had to bend over and say "sorry". Plus, I'm sure my teacher would get a "bad impression" and I'm sure she sees me as some kind of malcontent slacker at this point.

But, I felt like it.

If she is popular and has a bunch of guy friends, it's best to either stay out of it or try to get in good with the guy friends first.

Insight as a girl: she has a thing for that "Justin" guy and wanted to brag to her girlfriend about the fact that he was giving her attention. She was pleased. Barging in on the conversation with something negative would have had desastrous social effects for you, such as both girls ganging up on you to look cool in front of "Justin".

You're 24 and you still worry about some random thing some girl does?

If you were able to sense her teasing was playful, that implies correctly assessing social cues and context. Not very Aspergian.

Showing restraint and not blurting out your first thoughts? Not very Aspergian. Self editing of your responses can be learned, though.

Nice insight there! So, what if she had gone over to Justin and pretended to scold him in a flirting kind of way?!

At the risk of sounding like a "super NT" again, which I dislike, girls are not supposed to do that, they're supposed to whine in a cute way, ignore the guy for a few minutes while making "giggly eye contact" from time to time, and possibly throw a little ball of paper at him if he seems to slow down his "alpha male flirting behaviour" to remind him of her presence, then act playfully fearful of retaliation.
In short: encourage him to go ahead and play with her, without actually getting up and walking up to him, which would be too forward and possibly lower the interest of the male (IE: too easy).

Yeah, I instinctively knew she was saying "Justin Likes Me", but it was so annoying that she said it right in the middle of class so that everyone could hear that I felt like essentially saying "SHUT UP!" by making fun of her. Of course, I didn't, because I know that would reflect quite badly on me in the class and the teacher would probably give me a much harder time, which is what I don't need considering my current grade. As far as "social impacts", I don't really care about my "social standing" since this is a "biology social circle"(Everyone in here is a biology major besides me), but I have to admit that it would make the classroom uncomfortable and I definitely wouldn't feel welcome coming to class, which is counter to my goal of passing it.

But, I felt like SOOOOO doing it.

Summary of hidden meanings:

"Justin is making fun of me!" translates to "Justin likes me!"

"He's making fun of you? Oh, you poooooor baby. Wah, Wah" translates to "Shut up!"

Was this an aspergian thought?

Actually, what you thought of saying, in NT, translates to "I like you and I'm jealous of Justin, and a bit of a dickhead" lol.......
What would translate as "shut up" would be something like: " dude, go over there and ask him to bang you so we can go on with the class"

I think it was just you being a bit of a brat. It's a human thing.

No. Everyone has thoughts like that. Acting on those thoughts would be different.
