When there's no advertisment at the bottom of a thread, a black and white photo of Alex appears as a place-holder.

He's staring at the camera.

Anyone else feel the need to look away?

What would these results mean? Been told here I must be a "half pint".

When you have a browser that supports add-ons (like Mozilla Firefox) you can get an advert killer.

I don't see Alex because he isn't there - it seems my add on sees him as an advert.

Beyond not seeing Alex I don't see ads of any sorts anywhere I go on the net. Love it.

Nope, the opposite. Alex's stare is mesmerizing, and I have to scroll the page so he's hidden or I have this compulsion to stare back at him.

Not really creeped out. It's an aspie stare, but that reinforces the theme. If it's a problem, stop coming to Wrong Planet.

It was a question. No need to get hostile.

I know what you mean. Kind of, creepy but not too bad. its a very daunting picture to look at. mainly cause its black and white. the colour of it hurts my eyes more than the actual image or anything. maybe thats your problem too? I also dont get his picture on Google Chrome.

Yes. But I get creeped out by eye content generally, nothing personal.

No, I see NTs stare worse than that.

Yeah shameless self-promo. I think he's going to run for Pope of AS some day.

PS - If you use firefox just install Adblock Plus and you won't see it anymore.

Initially, I was "creeped out". It was like: "Who is this person staring at me"? Now, I largely ignore it.

The more interesting question is whether it is common for an Aspie to want to have his/her face plastered at the bottom of every page (like this).

My strategy has always been to not call attention to myself.

Install Adblock Plus if you're using google chrome. It blocks all ads.

Not really and maybe at first, but anyone staring at me kind of creeps me out. Today there is an ad at the bottom of the page. I need to install something to block ads and that would be wonderful.

This is his website, if it wasn't for him you wouldn't be here. He can do with it what he wants, he needs to promote himself somehow.
