Hello,

does anybody else have any problems with daylight/sunlight?

Since I can remember I preferred night and cloudy weather to what everybody else seemed to enjoy = Sunshine.
When the sun shines I get dizzy and confused. In sunlight I cannot think nor concentrate, and it makes me very tired. At night or dark weather I feel so much better, more alert and awake and much, much more alive.

Does anyone else hate bright weather or has similar experiences? Thanks :)

I prefer cloudy days when I have to drive, I get extremely bothered by the sun in my eyes and when sun reflects off cars. I wear sunglasses but it doesn't help much. I usually will develop a headache.

Yep i do 100%. I cant be out in the sunlight without sunglasses.
And even brightly lit indoor places hurt my eyes so i often wear THESE
I would really like to live up in the Pacific North West where my grandparents are and enjoy its lovely gray skies.

It is called Photo-phobia ( a word I dislike immensely. Phobia means fear of. It should say Photo-sensitivity)

Light sensitivities are common amongst those with ASD, ADHD and some neurotypical populous.

You might also have an issue with florescent lighting if you have Photo-phobia.

I have the same reaction in terms of dizziness and confusion. Only slightly however.

Sunshine is the human body's primary source of vitamin D.

Vitamin D deficiencies are linked to chronic depression.

Given that they originate from a place that has very low sunlight levels, people with red hair produce more Vitamin D to combat this issue.

I have a dual problem, sunlight hurt my eyes, but I also have SAD (seasonal affective disorder) I really need light or I get depressed, I must have a light in the winter to keep me from sinking into a major depression. and I must go outside and walk or it gets bad, I force myself even though it does hurt, it is just my health concerns, same as eating vegetables even when they were not my favorite.

one thing, the glasses I wear adjust to light, they get pretty dark anyway

I can relate to this. I absolutely hate sunny weather; it's entirely too bright for me. I never go anywhere without my sunglasses.

actually if you live north of the 30th parallel you need much more than that, and you need at least 40% of your skin exposed to even do that, it also depends on what your skin tone is, the darker you are the more you need.

here is a link with info about needed sun exposure

I actually like being out in the sun. For me it feels good and gives me energy. What I can't stand is looking at objects in the sun that shine, sparkle, glee, glisten and gleam. That intense small dot of light that they create feels like a laser burning a hole in my eye.

I like days when it is a little overcast or clouds come and go. Full sunshine all day is too much. Being cloudy and/or rainy all day is too much too. I like it to change back and forth.

A lot of days I feel like I am just waiting until it gets dark outside before I can concentrate on anything. I don't know why it matters.

i hate sunlight, the top half of my vision disappears, its either black or white, but i can see the bottom half ok, i remember when i put on sunglasses once and i could see everything, i was amazed. sunlight really bugs me though. and up here in the north, winter time means the sun is always low, so it paiinful to go for a walk/drive on a sunny day here.

You don't need sunshine to get vitamin D; you can either get it from diet or in pill form. Both are much safer, as they don't have the cancer risk, not to mention the fact that 80% of skin aging is caused by sun exposure.
