Mine is easily Stanley Kubrick. He had problems connecting with other people, he was barely over 5ft 6'', he didn't seem to have much competence with sports...and yet because he stuck to his interest (which was movies & photography), he managed to land himself a gorgeous wife, a fortune, and a timeless legacy amongst millions of people.

Who's yours?

Mine is Tom Hiddleston. He has the most soothing voice ever. <3 It's always helped calm me down during my most anxious moments. Everything about him is perfect. He's even a real life Disney prince. He's the sweetest most caring guy ever, and I could go on forever just obsessing. <3

Two - Leonardo DaVinci and Thomas Jefferson. Both changed the world, both had many different talents, both were likely aspie.

I opened several threads in new tabs and when I clicked the tab for this one, I thought I was in the "What's your obsession" thread. The flow fit so well too, with the "Mine is Stanley Kubrick/Tom Hiddleston"

More on topic, I see Bill Gates as a bit of a hero, as well as my Mum :)

I have no need to idealize some stupid little man. I only respect other man and not put them up on a statue of heroism.

The doctor who saved my father's life when my father had cancer.

And the previous headmaster of my school who transformed my life for the very best. He has transformed the lives of countless other disabled children like me.

Buffy, Anna & Elsa, The Doctor, Sam & Dean, Bo, Sailor Moon, etc.

As for real people, yes, I have that too. The hard thing is being like any of my heroes. I wish I was able too.

My childhood hero. He broke my heart when he died.

Going on this definition,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero
No, I don't know of anybody outside of mythology who would fit the bill. I might have thought differently when I was younger, for a while.

Not sure...I guess someone who comes sort of close to that would be Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden, I find the guy rather inspirational I mean he replaced their original vocalist(did a better job, or well at least it was better fit for the direction they went), he flies planes and came up with a great beer(apparently he is an ale enthusiast as well). I got to see Iron Maiden in concert and the venue where I saw him kinda sucked and he wasn't afraid to say that...first they couldn't get all their stage eqipment and props and crap that add to the show on, then when they wanted to go for a little longer according to the management they where using too much electricity. So I liked that he sorta had a 'screw this place' attitude of course not directed at the fans just the asses running the place.

Then of course I've always been curious about Syd Barret, and I like music he contributed to...but not sure he is exactly hero material, but without him there'd be no Pink Floyd...but I do not find where he ended up too appealing. So yeah that is all I got for now.

Oh and I forgot Oskar Schindler, the guy who posed as a nazi to save many lives during the holocaust, gotta give that guy kudos. But yeah he had to act like he believed in that disgusting philosophy and play the game just to save some lives and from what i understand was distraught over not being able to save more.

There is a movie, on it...its a good movie, but certainly can be hard to watch its very brutal.

We have the same hero. He's also one of the few directors that I can enjoy all their work regardless of topic. Each one is a masterpiece.
I especially loved Dr. Strangelove and the Shining, which are my two of my top five favorite movies. Although, admittedly Dr. Strangelove wasn't his most artistic work... I like that movie because it relates more to gaming.
