I somehow doubt it. Most of us would be logical I suppose. kindness probably have no correlation to autism. Aspies can have various personalities, some would be kind and some would be mean and some would think they're very kind, but others think they're selfish and mean. :) I know I'm very kind when my health is good and energy level OK. When I'm not feeling well I'm very cranky and don't care about people's feelings very much.

Aspies are people, too. They run the gamut like NTs run the gamut.

Negative.

Experience indicates otherwise.

Kindness is a complicated interpersonal phenomenon, cannot be objectively measured, and is significantly based on subjective impressions which are highly variable.

If someone has the objective to cause as much pain and suffering as possible, they can use logic to develop approaches to achieving that end, but the result will not be kind by any standard.

All human motives stem from irrational impulses, including the impulses that prompt people with ASDs to act. Logic is a method, not an agent.

If being kind facilitates my acquisition of property or the attainment of my goals, then I will be kind.

It's only logical ...

Being kind has kept humankind viable as a species.

There's an excellent reason why we have social customs: it's to keep us from killing each other.

No. There are nasty threads created on this very forum by people diagnosed with Aspergers. I don't believe for one moment that these are honest accidents, or that the folks doing this are really NTs posing as Aspies.

I'd say it's kind to be logical, people appreciate anyone who's informative or ahead of the curve. Kindness also connotes patience but it still strikes me as a path of least resistance. I don't beleive all of us are either of those things, but perhaps hou could say it's an HFA subtype.

Sometimes, when a person relies on logic over intuition, they might appear "nasty."

Yep...there's lots of ego on WP, just like there is lots of ego in the world at large.

I like PPR, and I learn lots from it--but, frankly, it's a nasty-fest. People are always trying to one-up each other.

I would say no, but from experience people with autism are much more straightforward and trustworthy. When someone with autism is friendly they are genuinely friendly, while with NT more often than not I have been led on for them to take advantage of me.
