I dislike how people here discriminate against NTs. They can be excellent and smart too, and they can be as much of an oddball as we are. Seeing how there are so many around me that impact my life in a positive way I am certain that there is no difference between me and them except by the content of character.

So what if some teens at school picked on you? This generation is somewhat apathetic but I do know that kids are just kids. Let them mature and maybe when you are an adult the world won't be so harsh on you. The world has its a**holes that just need a bit of growing up but it's not like all of them are NTs :/

I agree, I've met some pretty mean NT's, but in the end, I know that they'll just wind up cleaning sewers when they get older, so I shrug it off and conceal their certain fate from them. And about 80% of the NTs I've met (I don't meet a lot of people at all) are all nice to me.

It is fun to crack NT jokes though... CANT is one I came up with.

I guess I am soft to not think of a horrible future. Just become someone is bad doesn't mean that they won't get anywhere; success is sometimes independent from personality.

Yeah, you do wonder where those mean bosses come from...

But mostly the mean kids at school are the 'gangstas' who listen to rap on their mobile phones, wear pants without elastic to ride them low and don't give a damn about school. THAT'S why I believe in their fate.

Huh? How is it possible for an aspie to discriminate against an NT?

Maybe some people here say negative things about NT's, but that is completely different from discriminating against them.

And I think that we not only have the right to talk about all of the evils that have been perpetrated against us by NT's, but that this is our own safe place to do so. We can't do it out IRL, so we do it here. It is like a safety valve.

Good for you that you have positive NT's in your life. I am 43 and have yet to meet an NT I can trust.

Well, I see some people who say how NT girls are dull or how we are superior to NTs just because we have AS x:

You've obviously been fooled to think that NTs are OK.

We are SO USED to being screwed by NTs that whenever one of them does something not totally wrong to us we take it as a nice deed from them.

TRUST ME, you might think NTs are nice right now. Somehow you've been confused, but in the end NTs will ALWAYS stab you in the back. ALWAYS!! !

Snap out of that "people are people" mentality. You'll only regret having ever trusted an NT.

Yeah, like some users say "I hate NTs, they should all die!! !!"

You are allowed to discuss your turmoils with them and say how you hate those SPECIFIC NTs, but saying you hate every one of them is a bit ignorant.

I don't know; I have been treated well. I could tell you one story of sympathy.

Once I was suffering from overheating in school; it was summer and I skipped lunch so I was feeling rather weak. When some boys blocked me from the water-fountain I felt tormented and about to snap.

I did, and I smacked the boy in front of me with everything in my hands. My pencil-box broke and many pencils flew around and soon stopped, trembling and fell to the ground. I had experienced for the first time an adrenaline rush and when it passed I had no strength.

All around there were girls getting to the ground to pick up the fallen pencils. Some helped me to my feet and I kept my head low. I barely knew most of them but they had the compassion to get everything together and escort me to the nurse. None of those girls were autistic or aspies yet they had this compassion for me, the school odd-ball to help me in a time of need. When it comes down to it, we are all human and they too are capable of sincerity.

:o I like certain NTs, others I dislike. I have met people with ASDs that can be just as mean and back stabby as any NT could, and I have met NTs that cheered me up when I was bullied. I think many of the people that dislike NTs so much are probably in an area with a large number of jerks and only see crappy NTs :?

Is not exactly discrimination, but most here had very bad experiences from Nts. and they, we would feel more comfortable with aspies, but I believe if there is discrimination we are as bad as they are.

I heard there may be a greater sense of apathy in the cities so it may have to do with location x:

Another symptom of AS. It HAS been documented, and is common, but isn't talked about much, is that we are too trusting. Almost gullible. I don't know how this relates to MY life, but I HAVE been too trusting. I tend to give in or give people the benefit of the doubt. That is true even NOW even though those feelings have been replaced by a lot of cynicism!

Such a trusting attitude is an ASSET! The world would be a UTOPIA if everyone was like that and lived up to it. It isn't good working with NTs though!

I think I've been around long enough in the world at 47 to know. I've worked with thousands of NTs. I'm married to an NT and have been for 26 years in June. I have an entire family of NTs (and I mean hundreds of them). I had NT teachers and professors. I have NT friends. NTs come in all shapes and sizes, honest and dishonest, good intentions and bad intentions. We actually have many differences as Aspies and they are the same. My NT teachers took care of me and adjusted accordingly so I surpassed my classmates and went to college. My professors had no issues with me and most loved me. Obviously I like my husband and he's a very rational and intellectual being. My back is just fine, thank you. My family and friends know I'm strange and just work with it. They are just as strange to me, but I work with them as well. We aren't from the planet laidback, we just choose not to get all wrapped up in the NT/AS drama. Maybe it's because I've never seen a shrink and neither have the majority of them. It's probably why we're still rational and get along.

If you aren't meeting interesting NTs, look around. Artsy, intellectual NTs are everywhere, join an interest group and you will find them. Keep living in your torment from school and you won't. Getting along with NTs means understanding why it's hard for them to understand you. We are outside their scope. Don't get all emotional when you tell them what's wrong. Don't play the AS card because they have no clue what it is. Just say your synapsis misfire and sometimes don't work at all. They can deal with it. The ones who can't are going to be too emotional for you to stand being around anyway.

I have about 10 NT friends that I know of. No Aspie ones. They're all really nice and we have a lot of fun together.
